summer 1970

Ringo and George were sitting in a peaceful meadow full of beautiful flowers. George lied down on his back and let Ringo, his longtime lover, play with his hair. Ringo loved George's hair. It was long and soft.

"You like playing with my hair, don't you?" George asked.

"Yeah, I like it like this. It's long, I love it." Ringo admited. George took Ringo's hand out of his hair and kissed it.

"You know I love you very much, Ringo." George said.

"I love you more" Ringo replied. He climbed on top of George and went in for a very passionate kiss. After that, George just allowed him to stay laying on top of him while he rubbed Ringo's back.

"What are we going to do now?" Ringo asked after a while.

"What do you mean?"

"Y'know, without being in the band? What are we gonna do?"

George just sighed. "I dunno. We won't get to be with each other much. I'll be with Pattie all the time now."

"And i'll be with Maureen," Ringo said sadly. "I wish I could stay here, laying with you for the rest of our lives."

"I wish that too, Richie." They just layed there embracing each other, thinking of better times from many years ago.

"Remember when you came to visit me in the hospital when I got my tonsils out?" Ringo asked. He hated hospital. He was delighted when George came to visit him. George made him feel so safe.

"Oh yeah! You really hated hospitals, so I came to comfort you! And I made fun of you for having a small moustache because you haven't shaven in a while." George laughed, making Ringo laugh too.

"You made me feel so safe, Georgie." Silence.

"I'm going to miss you." Ringo said with tears starting to form.

"Now now, don't cry luv. I'll have you over all the time," George soothed, patting Ringo's back and wiping his eyes. "And tell you what, you can play the drums on some of my songs. That is, when I start writing them."

Ringo sniffled. "Really?"

"Yes really! I don't know any better drummer than you."

"Do you have any ideas for songs yet?" Ringo asked.

"I'll probably write one about you."

"How would it go?"

"Hmmm" George thought. He already had an idea. He only came up with a few words and a title, it's a start. "I have been working on one."

"I wanna hear what you have so far." George started to sing:

If not for you

Babe, I couldn't even find the door

I couldn't even see the floor

I'd be sad and blue, if not for you

By the look on Ringo's face, George could tell he loved it.

"That's all I have, it isn't m-"

"I love it! I know it isn't much, but it's a start!" Ringo exclaimed. He was surprised Ringo liked it. He thought it was horrible.

George looked up and saw stars. He couldn't believe how much time had passed already.

"Look!" George said. Ringo looked up and saw the stars too.

"See all those stars?" George asked.

"Yeah, what about them?"

"I don't care about any of them. How could I care about those trillions of stars when I have my one and only, favourite Starr right here." George said while he hugged Ringo tight.

"Being soft, are you?" Ringo giggled.

"Only for you," George said. "Now, how about we go stay at a hotel?"

"But what about-"

"Y'know what I mean by staying at a hotel, right? Getting a room?"

"Oh, ohhh." Ringo knew what he meant just then. He stood up and extended an arm for George to grab. "Well, let's not waste any time then. We haven't got all night!" George grabbed onto Ringo's arm and let him pull him up. They skipped like old times into the city and got a room at a hotel. They didn't care about their wives at the moment, just each other. Their love would never die~
