Henry Cantor - More Theyna because I can!

Henry Cantor:

My name is Henry Cantor and I am a thirty-five year old high school teacher. I don't mean to sound like a bad teacher to any parents reading this, but I hate my job and I certainly have favorites and least favorites. I have brown hair and dark green eyes along with pale skin and glasses. I teach Greek Mythology at Overdale High School.

My favorite and least favorite students are both girls and pretty much polar opposites, but they both know a lot about Greek Mythology and seem to be best friends. My favorite is named Reyna, she is always focused and composed. My least favorite is Thalia, she is always dozing off in class and acts like she knows more than anybody else.

Today, I decided to do an easy topic in class. "Who knows what the Hunters of Artemis are?" Thalia's hand shot up and she looked genuinely excited about this topic.

"The Hunters of Artemis are immoral girls that turned their back on love forever and can only die if they are killed in battle. They are led by a lieutenant when Lady Artemis is not there and they are excellent with bows and arrows. I do believe that if a loyal follower fell in love with another girl, Artemis would accept the relationship." Thalia answered.

"Good job, but that gay part was uncalled for!" I scolded.

"Lesbian, actually." Reyna corrected me and winked at Thalia. I wonder why? (Maybe, if you used your tiny little brain, you'd figure it out!)

After class, I kept Thalia for a few more minutes. "I am curious why you believe that it is acceptable to encourage love between a girl and a girl?"

"Because it is, duh!" Thalia answered disrespectfully.

"And where did you get that idea?" I asked angrily.

"My heart, idiot!" I thought I heard her say under her breath. But then she added, "Why should it NOT be accepted, Mr.C?"

"Because it is disgusting and horrible!" I yelled.

"Thanks for letting me know!" She said sarcastically as she walked out. As she exited, I saw Reyna waiting for her in the hallway. Why would such a good student be best friends with the disrespectful rebel? Teens are strange beings.

Thalia had gotten detention for pulling a prank on one of her teachers and just to my luck I was in charge of detention after school today. It was Thalia, a boy who I had never seen, and another boy named Mike. I looked out the window and saw Reyna doing her homework on a bench outside. Was she waiting for Thalia?

I told my three delinquents to just finish their homework in silence and didn't pay much more attention to them than that. I was doing something more enjoyable, watching Reyna. I saw a boy walk up to her and opened the window slightly so I could hear them.

Maybe this was her boyfriend! "Hey, bae!" He said and sat down next to her.

"Leave me alone, Jake!" She said angrily.

"Come on baby! You know you love me!" 'Jake' moved closer to her.

"I TOLD YOU THAT I AM ALREADY IN A RELATIONSHIP, SO WHY DON'T YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!?!" I had never seen my perfect student yell but I guess this boy deserved it. I looked to my class and realized that they were listening as well and Thalia was beaming.

"Come o-"

"NO!" Reyna shoved him off the bench and he ran away. At that moment, my timer went off, signaling the end of detention. Thalia grabbed her things and rushed out of the room before the boys had even put their homework away.

I continued to look out the window and I saw Thalia sprint up to Reyna. "Hey, Rey!" Thalia greeted as she plopped her stuff down and had a seat on the bench. Thalia is the only person who Reyna tolerates calling her "Rey". It's not like high school friendships last so I wondered why they were so close.

"Hey Thals!" Reyna responded. I saw Thalia lean in and whisper something in Reyna's ear. Reyna's head immediately swiveled to my window and I ducked, but not before she saw me.

Reyna smirked and whispered something back into Thalia's ear. I watched to see Thalia's response, but it was not what I expected. Thalia grabbed Reyna's waist and smashed their lips together. Expected my role-model student to immediately and angrily pull away. Instead, she kissed back while wrapping her arms around Thalia's waist.

I was shocked to say the least. I glared in horror, disgust, and hatred as Reyna's finger's ran through Thalia's hair and Thalia's arms hugged Reyna tight. Two boys holding hands seemed to fall out of the shadows and walk up to them (SOLANGELO!). The shorter, black haired boy coughed, "We interrupting something, Cuz?"

Reyna and Thalia pulled apart at lightning speed and glared at the boys. "Yes, Death Breath. Yes you are!" Thalia yelled and the two boys started hysterically laughing while the girls blushed as bright as tomatoes.

"Well, we came to ask if you two lovebirds wanted to go on double date night with us tonight?" The sunny looking boy asked. Oh no! Another gay couple, how was this acceptable?

"Sure! But if anybody asks which one of us is with which one of you again, I am literally going to murder them!" Reyna agreed and the group walked away, laughing and talking.

I would never look at my two students the same way again...
