CH. 16 - Concerned Wizard

Concerned Wizard

"How did you know?!"

I asked her, and this child just kept staring at me.

"You're the only one I know who has black hair and red eyes." 

She says while I continue to just stare at her, not yet processing what she has said.

"Now can you put Blackie down?"

I dropped the beast and stared at her.

It's impossible for this child to know who I am adult or young!

"Tell me, how did you know?"

"Like I said, Sir. Lucas, you're the only one I know that has black hair and red eyes."

She grabbed the beast and ran, but before she reached the garden chair, she fell down.

My eyes widened and immediately ran to her, she was clutching her chest while the beast in her arms kept licking her face.

I grabbed it and throw it somewhere, a maid and a knight soon appeared and this pesky knight pointed a sword at me.

"You! What did you do to the Her Highness?!"

"Stop!"

I then saw the red-head knight appeared together with the so-called Emperor.

"What happened here?"

The maid spoke, "We found Her Highness on the ground and clutching her chest..."

I rolled my eyes and retracted the extra mana around her that made her stable.

"That should make her calm, for now, let her have some rest and kept the beast away from her for the meantime."

I reminded everyone, then used teleportation magic to my tower.

My mind is still filled with thoughts of how she knew...

After a while, I let go of it and decided to distract myself by doing more work.

I WOKE UP and found out it was almost midnight, Lily said that I passed out in the garden after Sir. Lucas healed me.

Then they said I couldn't play with Blackie for a while, which made me sad, but Lily said I could go on a boat ride with Papa to pass my time.

I stayed up last night without Lily knowing.

I didn't want to sleep because I keep seeing something horrible.

I don't know why but I just kept seeing it every time I close my eyes. My eyes are starting to leak tears and I tried not to sniff too loud.

"Yow..."

Someone suddenly spoke and it made me jumped. I turned my head to my side and saw Sir. Lucas.

"Why are you here?"

"I don't even know... Why aren't you asleep?" He asks.

"I can't sleep, I'm gonna get nightmares if I sleep or even close my eyes."

I said while turning to my other side to stand up and grab the water at the table near my bed.

"Why are you here, Sir. Lucas?" I asked once again.

"Lucas. You can just call me Lucas."

I stared at him, but his face suddenly turned red then he disappeared. "Where did he go?"

I shrugged then went back to the bed, and tried more ways to stay awake.
