Thank cutie_pie_5400 for the rest of this chapter because she motivated me to write this tbh

Chapter 4 (Part 2)

I reapplied a layer of Lia's nude lipstick in the mirror inside of my locker before I took a calming breath and channeled my inner Kardashian. I started sashaying down the hall towards him with confidence; my steps were the only sounds in the hallway and as I got closer he looked up. I started to smile but stopped when I thought that I might have lipstick on my tooth. I innocently dragged my tongue over my teeth and he stopped openly checking me out to stare at my lips.

At least I got his attention, I thought to myself, but I need to step it up a notch if I want an invitation. When I was a few feet past him I nonchalantly dropped my pencil. I turned my head to see him still watching me so I winked before I slowly bent over to pick it up. When I stood back I felt someone's hands on my waist.

"Do you need some help?" Ryan's breathy voice came out in my ear and I was surprised with how repulsed I was; I resisted the urge to shudder out of disgust. I dropped a pencil, not a nuclear bomb, I didn't need help picking it up.

I turned around and gazed at what he was wearing, a red letterman jacket with our school's letters on it and normal jeans and converse like myself. You could see gel in his hair that wasn't evenly distributed and how his nose was slightly crooked. His cheeks were rosy and it looked like he applied blush. He mistook my assessment for checking him out and smirked.

"So babe, are you new here? I haven't seen you before," he asked in a slightly deep voice. "I'm Ryan." He stated as if he was Beyoncé.

"I know, I've gone to school with you since 6th grade," I told him and was amused as I watched his eyes grow wide with shock before he tried to play it off. I already knew that he never noticed me so this didn't come as a surprise.

"Are you coming to my party Friday night? I wouldn't want to miss a gorgeous girl like you," I rolled my eyes as how cliché he was being.

"If I have time," I shrugged, but was inwardly ecstatic that I completed step one of the plan.

"If you have time? Babe, you should make time for me," he took a step closer to me. I only looked up at his tall frame unimpressed. He kept staring at me and it was awkward as hell so I tried to think of it as a staring contest. "You're different," he commented. I raised my eyebrow in question, what was that supposed to mean? Without explaining, he quickly slapped my ass and walked away. "I'll see you on Friday," he yelled as he walked down the hall as I stood in the same spot, frozen.

That dickhead didn't even ask for my name. I can't wait for Friday.

♡♡♡

The 'Ryan-encounter', as I began to call it, took the majority of my lunch so I didn't bother going. For the rest of the day, I was hyperaware of Ryan, and it seemed like the same thing for him. When I walked past him in the halls his eyes followed my every move even though he was surrounded by his usual flock of girls. At the very end of the long day I found myself at my locker once again to get all of my homework. When I slammed my locker close, Ryan was right behind it. Damn, another cliché moment, I thought.

"I never got your name," he told me.

"Sheyla," I answered quickly. I honestly just wanted him to leave so I could go home and watch Netflix. I needed to catch up on American Horror Story and he was postponing my happiness; I tried not to frown.

"That's pretty, just like you," I rolled my eyes at him for the second time today. "What will it take for you to come to my party?" He questioned. I didn't object, I was going to go to his party even though he didn't seem to know this.

"Maybe you shouldn't be such a manwhore; it doesn't exactly make a girl feel special," I snapped. I really didn't care what he did, this was only for the plan; but I was tired of seeing his face today.

He didn't seem offended though, he actually looked amused which bothered me even more.

"Are you jealous?" Oh hell no. My eyes widened and I quickly shook my head. "You are jealous," he stated as if he just discovered a hidden gem. "You're just playing hard to get. It's okay though, I always get what I want, and I want you." And with that he turned around looking quite pleased with himself and walked through the doors to the parking lot. He got inside he shiny orange Camaro and sped off.

"Ugh," I huffed to myself.

"Care to explain why you look like you want to melt those doors with your laser vision?" Roman's voice sounded from behind me. I sighed, it was a long day but I still craved his company.

"It's nothing," I sighed again. He narrowed his eyes in curiosity but didn't question it.

"Do you need a ride home?" He asked instead. I nodded my head but stayed where I was even when he started walking away. I just couldn't believe how far I got in the plan today, and how annoying Ryan was. Soon I felt a warm hand encase mine. "Come on, you look exhausted."

I didn't argue and let Roman drag me to his sleek black matted Peugeot SR1. I let myself admire it before climbing inside as he held open my door for me. After making sure I was situated he walked around to the drivers side. The ride home was quiet, with Ed Sheeran's angelic voice in the background, but it was comfortable.

After telling him my address, we arrived shortly. I was about to get out when he reached for my hand, I thought he was going to ask me about my weird mood but instead he just scanned my face.

"What are you doing?" I asked, he wasn't saying anything he just kept looking at me.

"I'm just making sure you're okay," he commented. I opened my mouth to say something but he just got out of the car and walked around to my side. He opened my door and waited patiently for me to get out. "Goodnight," he told me with a small smile. I returned it before telling him goodnight and walking inside.

What a day.

♡♡♡

"So do you want me to castrate him?" Dahlia asked calmly as she dipped a chicken nugget in barbecue sauce. It was Thursday and I finally got to see my best friend; we sat at our usual table as quickly told Lia everything; I hadn't seen her since before the first Ryan-encounter.

"Dahlia Johnson, control yourself," I chastised lightly but I couldn't stop myself from giggling.

"All I'm saying is that there are other options, Ryan doesn't have to be one of them," she told me seriously. I sighed, I didn't involuntarily get my butt slapped for nothing.

"We're going to the party," I stated. "So what's the next step in the plan?" I asked.

"Mmm," she hummed unsure. "I don't know, I didn't really think you'd get this far," she said only to earn a glare from me. "Well Marina says to 'not get attached to someone you could lose'," she explained as I nodded my head.

"Trust me, I'm not going to get attached to him, he's a douche."

"You'd be surprised," she said simply but I didn't miss the quick, sad gleam in her eyes. I almost forgot that he played her not too long ago. I felt the renewed anger pooling inside of me which only motivated me more. It reminded me of my goal for this entire plan. It wasn't only for myself, but for all of the other girls that had to deal
heartbreak with a pint of ice cream, all because of these nuisances.

"Just be ready for the party," I told her, then I got up and bought some skittles from the vending machine before I left the cafeteria.

As usual I felt Ryan watching me leave. When I made it to my locker I opened it to find a rose placed carefully inside along with a note.

See you Friday night.
