Should I start doing dedications? :)
Chapter 2
I closed my mouth after I realized I was gaping, and kept my face blank.
He waltzed over and calmly sat down. He glanced at me and then his eyes slightly widened. I could practically hear the gears turning in his mind and his memory of the mall coming back. His eyes quickly roamed my face as if he was checking me to see if I was somehow damaged.
I was, I thought to myself, but I put my own pieces back together.
It's embarrassing that he'd seen me break down like that, but it's all over and in the past now. I'll just try to get this project over with as soon as possible.
Once he was finally done assessing me, I watched the words flutter from his mouth.
"So we meet again," he said smoothly.
"Basically," I told him quickly, hoping that he would just drop the subject of what happened at the mall; luckily he didn't get a chance to.
I noticed the teacher was standing at the front of the room, about to make an announcement, so I adverted my eyes from Roman.
"I just realised that many of the partners don't know each other well, so you can take the last fifteen minutes of this class to get to know one another," he said rather cheerily.
He turned back to his desk and sat down. Everyone was now facing their partner, chattering away happily. I turned to look at Roman to find that he was already staring at me. I felt my cheeks start to involuntarily heat up but I tried to ignore it.
"Maybe we should start working on the project; I'm not very good at math and need the most time I can get," I explained.
"I think we should get to know each other," he said with a small smirk.
"But we should really get started. Don't you want to finish the project sooner rather than later?" I asked him, trying to get this whole project out of the way.
"We have a month to do it, and we'll have time in class to work on it everyday. Right now it's time for the initiation," he was somewhat right.
"Initiation of what?" I questioned.
"Our friendship," he told me as if it was obvious. Then he gave me this tiny grin. "Now, since you've been asking all of the questions, it's my turn," his smile grew a little wider. "If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?" He looked genuinely curious.
"Australia," I answered without hesitation. "If you had to wear a dress for a day, what color would it be?" I couldn't help but giggle at the end from picturing him in a frilly dress.
"Black," he scowled, "so that it would reflect my dark soul," he said with a straight face.
I started cracking up at his seriousness, and a few people in the class turned to look at me.
For the rest of class we continued to ask each other questions and I realised that I enjoyed his company.

When it was finally lunch time and I had my lunch, I casually strolled over to my normal table. Dahlia was already sitting there, and we smiled at each other.
"Let's get started on the plan," she said bluntly and I nodded my head in agreement.
"So what do I have to do?" I asked.
"The first thing we need to do is to choose our target," she said. After glancing around the cafeteria for a few seconds she randomly pointed to a small boy who was sitting with a few others while playing Pokemon. "What about him?"
I gave her an are-you-kidding-me? look. "I doubt that he goes around breaking girls' hearts," I told her.
"You never know. He might use them for Pokemon cards," she said sarcastically.
"Pick a different person," I said.
"Okay," she sighed dramatically. "Him!" She said after a few seconds. She was subtly pointing towards the football captain. "Ryan Daniels. He's an ultimate player; he thinks that because he's captain of the football team girls will automatically worship him. Unfortunately, they do. They date him and develop feelings for him to realise that he's already moved on to another girl within the week," she ended viciously.
It seemed like she was speaking from some personal experience, and I was listening intently.
"So how do I start?" I was excited, and I wanted to begin soon.
"Patience my child," she said in a strange voice, and I gave her a weird look. "I'll come over to your house tomorrow so that we can prepare for this battle."
"Battle?"
"Yes: battle! Let's head to class, lunch is almost over," she said. We threw our trash away and walked out of the cafeteria. Once we both had our books, we headed to our next class, which we had together.

The rest of the day passed by in a blur, and before I knew it, I was already home. When I walked inside the house was silent, and I knew that I was alone. I was an only child, so it was only my mom and I. We were close, but she was always working to support us. I was grateful for everything she was able to provide as a single mother, and I love her to death.
I grabbed a water bottle and bag of Doritos as I went upstairs. I quickly changed out of my school clothes and started on my homework. When I got hungry I ordered some pizza and when they came I happily snatched the box away from the delivery man and paid. After I was finished eating, I remembered that I have a chapter test for chemistry in a few days.
It was late, and I was studying when I started thinking about how the plan would work out with Ryan Daniels. What if he takes one look at me and laughs? And how could I break his heart? Not to mention he's more experienced than me in basically all categories related to dating. Roman probably is too, I thought, surprising myself. Woah, where did that come from?
My thoughts were still swirling when I started getting tired. I closed my science book and laid down. I wrapped myself up in my fuzzy blanket and went to sleep thinking about the plan, Ryan, and a certain math partner who kept invading my thoughts.
