Deep within the darkness of that cold cell
A little hand tried to reach out and break the spell
Scary as it is, lonely as she was
A burning within her made her close her eyes and feel the outside's grass

She tried to catch a little butterfly with her her little palm
And she wished that the world would give her even a little alm
She wanted to feel the warmth of the sun biting her skin
But she felt the cold from outside 'till her within

In the cold cement, she curled up in a ball
She heard footsteps along the mostly empty hall
A strong manly voice spoke in a tone so cold
"You're free" and opened the bars that to her had a hold

She closed her eyes again, for with them open holds no difference
She'll be punished and will be given in a few minutes, a death sentence
For eyes opened are closed to what's going on
She'd given up and found no more reason to hold on
