It's been three months of working Artistry De Arte and I can confidently say I've become really familiar with my work there. The pay is nice for food, but to afford a place of my own that is a whole different story. At every end of my shift at the De Arte, I make sure to check out 5 minutes early to sneak my way into any restroom or room I can in order to stay indoors for the night. Now for the days, I have off those are the hardest since I'm forced to sleep in shelter homes.

I watch everything through the subway's windows as we pass by. This is my daily routine when it comes to going to my job. Working at the De Arte has been really good. I've been able to get along with my coworkers, Ozulla, and with visitors that come visit the place.  My thoughts are interrupted as I hear the speaker go on notifying us of the next stop. Waiting a few minutes the subway stops and I stand up making my way towards the exit. Once the door opens I step out making my way to my destination that isn't far from here.

As I check in into work I see the most beautiful brightest chandelier. Everything sparkles from every angle. This is new this wasn't here before.

"New decor?," I ask the security guard.

"Decor for our alpha," he simply says as he walks away. I stay in thought for awhile questioning if this means the empire's alpha will be coming here today.

"Everyone please meet me at my office," Ozulla announces from the front as the staff starts arriving. Once we're all inside her office. Ozulla starts to speak, "Good morning everyone, so I'm sure you've all noticed new decor being placed in De Arte. Reason for this is because a big event is soon going to take place in this building."

"My parents mentioned to me alpha Zokris will be showing his presence here. Is that true?," a familiar voice utters from the crowd. My eyes travel to where this voice came from until I successfully see Lysa. I'm a bit taken back seeing her in the same room as me. What is she doing here?

"Well hello Lysa... everyone this is our newest hire. Let's welcome her to our team," Ozulla announces. As everyone welcomes her, I stay silent not knowing what to really do. Lysa is someone I grew up with in the orphanage, but we were never close. If anything, she was quite a bully thinking she was better than the rest of us due to her actually knowing her parents.

"Now to answer your question Lysa... yes. We all must prepare for this main event that will be held in this place this weekend," Ozulla continues on.

"What will the main event consist of?," I decide to ask curious to know more about this event we will all have to prepare for.

"Alpha Zokris will be holding a gallery of his paintings," Ozulla responds. My eyes widen in interest of this event. I've always admired the empire's alpha work. He's very talented at what he does and everyone knows that.

As I mop the tile floors, I can't help but keep admiring a painting of a beautiful baby girl. Her skin is fair with the most pinkish cheeks I've ever seen. She has a good load of silvery-white hair on her head with the most beautifulest silver colored eyes. It is said to be the goddess of ice and alpha Luka's daughter. I'm not sure how those two look like since in the orphanage we don't have much access to any outside world things. However, I'm sure they're good looking people, so I have heard.

As I was mesmerized by the painting I hear squeaky noises from behind me causing me to turn around. Lysa smiles as she leaves mud all over the place where I just mopped.

"No," I breathe being so close to being done, but now realizing that I'll have to mop that area once again.

"Oops," Lysa murmurs sarcastically as she shows no genuine guilt nor regret for what she just did. I don't say anything only looking away getting ready to head her way to start mopping. Lysa notices this and just lets out a small giggle before she exits out of the premises.

"I would of thrown her across the room," Nehemiah utters as he steps into the area. I don't say anything only continuing to mop the muddy footprints that were left behind. Nehemiah is my coworker that is one of the kindest, yet firm wolfs I've met here. There's been a few times he's brought me food from his home. I have a feeling he knows about my circumstances, yet he has never brought it up to me. Which I'm so entirely grateful for.

"You're too good you know that," he adds after he continues to observe me from afar.

"That's what I've always heard, yet life thinks otherwise," I respond.

"Aye Ariah," he sighs with a small chuckle seeming to find my response a bit amusing with a hint of disappointment.

"Well I'll see you tomorrow. Stay safe," Nehemiah adds before he turns around completely exiting officially clocking out from today's busy work. I continue to mop with no hurry whatsoever as it benefits me till it's closing time. So I can sleep in tonight.

Despite the busy work week I have ahead of me. I am really excited about the main event coming up. I look forward to seeing all of the new artwork and perhaps if I'm lucky I can finally meet the face behind those masterpieces.

If only I would have known that that day would take such a dark turn.
