Hyunjin's POV
I looked away.
I just can't look at him while he is bidding his goodbye. I clearly know that he is saying his last message to me which I hate the most. Why does this need to happen?
All his life, he focused on taking care of everyone. He never focused on himself and would always let himself hurt than others. Why is this happening to him? He deserves to live. Why does this need to happen when he found the person who can make him happy? Caius deserves to be happy as well.
Why the fuck is this happening to him...
"You can cry once, but don't you ever cry forever because of me. You need to be happy and you deserve it" Caius
I saw how he smiled behind the blurry oxygen mask he has. His eyes look so weak and looks like they want to close.
Caius, are you tired?
Inyeop entered the room "I found out something"
I wiped my tears as fast as I can and tried to listen to Inyeop but fuck. I was about to go when I heard him taking out some papers from the envelope.
"What is that?"
"It's about Felix and Yunhee" Inyeop said
"What about them?" Caius asked
"Yunhee is not pregnant" Inyeop
"What? You mean she is lying to Felix the whole time?" Caius
"That fucking slut can't get any better. Felix carried all the hardships and almost got ruined of what she did. But there she is, lying about her pregnancy. She deserves to be in jail"
"What else do you know?" Caius
"Doctor Chun, the OB/GYN I talked to, is her Uncle. He said Yunhee threatened that if he won't lie about her pregnancy, she will kill him. Yunhee is kind of obsessed with Felix the first she saw him. After that day, she kept coming back to Xera's place to see Felix. Whenever she can't see Felix there, she would go to his house and will see Eunjoo and Felix together. She will keep repeating that he will have Felix soon. Then, the day that Xera got invited to a party, she dragged Felix with her because her parents won't let her go alone. That's when Yunhee planned everything" Inyeop
I am so sick of her. I better not let Jihyun heard this or else she will drag her hair and will probably beat her to death. After what Yunhee did to Jihyun's bestfriend? She won't waste any time now.
Caius nodded "Thank you"
Inyeop nodded.
"Why did you helped Felix?"
"Was it wrong?" Caius
"It's not like that. You like Eunjoo, she loves Felix. You have your chance but you just threw it away"
"I am going to die, Hyunjin. I better do something for the both of them before I leave. They also deserves to be happy, I want to put an end to what Yunhee started. Her lies should bury in hell with her-" Caius
"You deserve to be happy too. Can't you be selfish this time and choose yourself?"

"Hyunjin!" Jihyun shouted and hugged me tight "Are you okay? Your voice is trembling when you called me"
"I-I am fine. Just worried"
"What happened to Caius? Is he okay?" she asked
I shook my head "I know he talked to you all about his last message except for me and Eunjoo. I told myself that as long as Caius won't say his last message to me. He won't die, yet. Then, we saw him this morning, lying on the floor with blood coming out from his mouth. I lost my mind and kept repeating that he needs to tell me his last message before he die. He woke up, he looks fine but I know he wants to rest"
Jihyun caress my back.
"H-He told me his l-last message for me. I tried to stop him but he continued saying it. J-Jihyun..."
She hugged me again, but it's tighter this time "I hate to say this but I don't want you to get your hopes up. Caius knows until when he can survive. We all know that he won't live longer. Let's be honest here, he will die anytime soon, Hyunjin. You just have to accept it no matter how hard it is for you. Caius never wanted to leave us, he has to. He fought and tried to stay alive for us. Let's appreciate him and his bravery. For now, let's hope he will live for more days or forever"
"B-But it's hard. I've been through a lot and Caius knows about it. He knows everything, even my dark secrets. I-I can't just let my bestfriend die"

"Let him rest. Caius is tired. He fought for 3 years and tried to stay strong" Jihyun whispered and continued caressing my back
How can I just let him rest knowing that I never thanked him once? I didn't even tried to congratulate him nor sang for him once.
"Hyunjin" Inyeop called
"Huh?"
"Caius wants to talk to you" Inyeop
I went inside and saw him "Why?"
"Can you call Eunjoo for me? I badly want to see her for the last time" Caius

"Where are you?"
[At school, just finished doing the last part of the story. Why?]
"Can you go here?"

"Caius said he wants to see you for the last time"
