Percy Jackson:

The next few weeks were wonderful.

I loved having Annabeth as a friend, but her being my girlfriend was even better.

Our Greek project-that kind of brought us together now that I think about it(Remind me to thank Mr. Brunner later.)-was finally finished. It was the end of the school day that we presented our project and I had a proposal to ask Annabeth.

"Hey Wise Girl," I say as I walk up to Annabeth, who was putting her things in her locker. She smiled warmly and turned to face me.

"Hi Sea Weed brain."

"I got this idea," I say starting to feel nervous. Annabeth locked up her locker and grabbed my hand, leading me out of Goode's doors. Finally.

"Yeah?"

"Uh, Yeah. Well, since we've been together for a couple of weeks...um and my mom really wants to see you again. Well, you see, I was wondering if you'd want to come over for dinner. Mom and Paul already agreed. If you don't want to that's fine also. Actually, I'd understand if you don't want-"

Annabeth cut me off by kissing my cheek. I stop ranting and turn beet red. She smiled sadly at me.

"I wish I could, but I'm going over to my Dad's for dinner-" she cuts herself off. "Why don't you come with me? I don't think my Dad has formally met you."

I smile and nod.

"And maybe maybe some other time I could see Sally again. How I would LOVE to hear some more stories." I groan.

"You remember the address right?"

I nod.

"Okay, be there 5' o'clock. Sharp!"

I laugh a little and assure her I won't be late.

So, with a hug, a kiss, and one last goodbye, we depart.

5:47.

That's the time I end up pulling into the Chases driveway.

'Yeah, great first impression Perce, Way to go. Almost a full hour late to dinner. Well, technically, it wasn't my fault. You see, my mom said I had to dress up. Which in my mind means hole-less jeans and a nice, flannel shirt...Mom had other ideas.

So there I was, on my girlfriends Dad's doorstep 47 minutes late to dinner, in my 'never been used' suit and tie.

"Oh! You must be Percy, pleased to meet you son," Mr. Chase says opening the door. I reply with a charming "The pleasure is mine sir."

A woman-who I assumed was Helen, Annabeths step Mother-walks over to us. "And 13 minutes early, how charming."

'13 minutes early?!Wait...oh thank the heavens. Annabeth tricked me into coming early.

"I try Ma'am."

"Well don't just stand there, come in! Come in."

I walk inside, Mrs. Chare shutting the door behind me.

"Annabeth is in the kitchen making desert. She is almost done I assume. Let me go check on her," Helen says walking in the direction of the lovely smelling kitchen. Mr. Chase directs my to the couch and we sit.

"So, am assuming you and my daughter are pretty serious, since you are already "Meeting the parents." "

I laugh nervously, anxious to see Annabeth already. "Well, when we got together we confirmed that we 'Love' each other...and I kind of have liked her for five or six years now."
