Each step is more tiring than the last. I don't even bother skipping over the cracks on the sidewalk like I usually do. The whole day was filled with exams and now I have to go to my part-time job. I just wanted a break from it all but my mother depends on me. Ever since my father died my mother has been working extremely hard to give me a good life but due to her health issues she was laid off. I'm just lucky to have had enough savings to pay for rent for the time being, but soon we'll need the extra money.
I sighed once more, eventually reaching Sweet Slushies, the slushy shop I worked in. I grabbed the glass entrance door handle but before I pulled on it I saw a recognizable person inside. Was that.. Ed Sheeran? Just the thought of it dusted a pink shade on my face. I opened the door and the bell rang. It was empty inside besides a few customers and the owner and Ed turned to face me. It really was him.
"A-are you Ed Sheeran?" I approached slowly.
"Yes i am, Y/N," he replied, I was shocked to say the least.
"How do you know my name?" I didn't know how I managed to get the words out but I did.
"I've been following you on social media and I thought you were cute." His hand slid down my chin and he looked into my eyes.
Suddenly the ground started shaking. An earthquake? I hadn't seen any warnings about on the morning news. I was about to take cover but Ed stopped me.
"Don't, Y/N," he said sternly. I was confused, wouldn't we get hurt if we kept standing here? He began to levitate. I was taken aback and fell backwards.
"ouch." I rubbed my head after banging it on a table behind me. I wasn't distracted for long by this, and I quickly turned my attention back to Ed, still sitting on the floor. His clothes had changed and he had a crown on his head. He looked more... frog like.
"Y/N, I fell in love with you from the moment I saw your edits on my instagram explore page. They were amazing edits of me, and I had to check out your personal account. You're everything i've been looking for in a girl to become my galactic frog queen. Ribbit."
I was shocked. Frog queen? No wonder he looked more like a frog. And did he just say ribbit?
"W-what do you mean by frog queen?" The ground stopped shaking, the customers in the restaurant ran out as quickly as they could.
"I am the frog king and my people need a frog queen to help assist us in the army against the evil entity that is trying to get my magical Shape of You poster. If he manages to get his hands on it, it will be the end for our people."
I nodded and stood up, "Alright, I'll help you. But in exchange, you must give my mother enough money to continue living here. I will say I have gone to a very special boarding school so she will not question my disappearance."
Ed smiled at my response and finally floated down to the ground. His feet delicately touched the ground with a clanking noise.
"Thank you, Y/N. I will make sure not to let your mother get wrapped up in this, and that she will not find out about the situation. With you, as my frog queen, we will accomplish anything." He bent over and kissed my hand.
I laughed nervously, "A-alright," I stammered.
"I should probably get heading home," I pulled my hand away. I was unsure how I felt towards him. I had the hugest crush on him when I was his fan, but the fact he was part frog hadn't quite sunk in yet.
"Okay. I will meet you here tomorrow," He waved as I walked towards the exit of the place. I glanced over my shoulder before I left. It had taken longer than expected and my shift was already over. I assumed even if it hadn't ended that my boss would let me leave, seeing as he was talking with Ed again. I let out yet again another sigh. I pushed the door open and stepped out, of course it was raining. Just my luck. I didn't have an umbrella and it wasn't raining too hard so I decided to just walk through it. The issue regarding rain wasn't nearly as large as the issue with Ed Sheeran. Just what have I gotten myself into this time?

When I got home it had stopped raining. I shakily put my silver key into the lock. I twisted and pushed but it didn't seem to budge. Frick. Not again. I continued to struggle with it for another few minutes before my mother opened the door.
"Y/N why didn't you just knock?" she asked with a smile.
"I wasn't sure if you were sleeping or not and I didn't want to wake you up," I replied.
She laughed quietly, "You're soaking wet, even if I was sleeping you should've just woken me up. Come on, you're gonna catch a cold if you stand out there for much longer."
"Okay, okay, I'm coming in." I smiled back at her. My mother always made me feel welcomed. I didn't want to have to leave her here.
"How was work? I hate that you have to go through this." She asked me, drying my hair with a towel. I couldn't help but start crying.
"Oh no, did something happen?" I could hear how concerned she was just by the tone of her voice.
"A-actually I got a good scholarship and am going to a boarding school tomorrow. They said they will pay for all of your bills while I'm away," I hated lying to my mom, but I didn't really have any other choice, "but I'll miss you so much."
"It's okay. We can still visit, besides this is an amazing opportunity for you. I just want you to have the best. You said you're leaving tomorrow right?"
I nodded.
"Well you better change out of these wet clothes and start packing. I'll make us a nice last dinner together. Well obviously not last, last, but the last one for at least a few months."
"Okay," I hugged my mom before running up the stairs two at a time. I nearly tripped but I caught myself on the railing.
"Be careful!" my mom yelled up at me.
"I will!" I yelled back, I could see her shaking her head. I will miss her so much but this is going to be good for her. And for me... maybe? I'm not sure yet.
