Midoriya Household, 2405
Inko Midoriya, a young looking beautiful green haired woman in her mid-thirties with emerald eyes and a moderate figure, was currently washing the dishes.
Considering everything that happened today, she was very much keeping her cool in a very controlled way. Earlier today, it was her son's 5th birthday party even though they had it 2 days after his real birthday. Izuku and her had gone over to the doctor's office in order to figure out what Izuku's quirk is.
Oh, right, let me catch you up to speed.
Quirk, or Individuality: A genetic trait in humans that grants them superhuman abilities that have been around for around 350 years.
When quirks were first introduced, it was in Qing Qing city. A baby that was just recently born started to glow. At first the baby was marked off as a freak, but then, other people started developing their own superhuman abilities. Soon enough, a decent percentage of the human race had what is known now, as a quirk. However, this caused people to question what it meant to be human, and so, humanity was filled with chaos, uncertainty, and evil. However, in the midst of the madness arose a new profession: Professional Heroes.
These people are those that trained to become pillars of justice in order to defend the people and the world. Think of them like a police force but better. In other words, they are to the police as to what the marines are to the rest of the army. It is also the most desired career in the entire world, so much so that almost every child in the world wants to become a hero.
Including Izuku Midoriya, Inko Midoriya's only child. Izuku is a five year old boy, as previously mentioned, that has black and green hair with fluorescent green eyes, and weirdly enough, four freckle marks in the shape of a diamond on each cheek. Izuku has almost always dreamed of becoming a hero the second he saw them in action when he was 3. Izuku wanted to be just like his model and number one hero, All Might.
Then, today happened.
At the doctor's office earlier today
"I'm terribly sorry that I have to break this to you kid, but the chances of that isn't so good." The mustache man doctor said to Izuku as his toy figurine of All Might dropped to the ground. The doctor had a seemingly blank face that held no emotion and he was slouching in his chair for a good amount of time before he got up to rightfully explain it.
He pulled out a chart that showed the human skeleton and began explaining. "You see, when quirks finally became seen as normal and the chaos actually died down, we discovered that quirks only appear in people without a second pinky toe joint. Ever since the first quirks have been found there has only been 13 exceptions to this rule, however, that doesn't mean that you should give up on your dreams kid, whatever that may be." The doctor smiled while Izuku's tears slightly slowed down at that.
Inko however looked over at Izuku worriedly.
End Flasback
As Inko finished up with the dishes, she decided to check up on Izuku. He had been mostly quiet since he arrived home and hadn't really said too much. She walked towards his room and heard the familiar sounds that she had grown accustomed to with her son practically being one of the biggest hero nerds and fanboys that ever existed. Her son was watching the very same video that got him in love with heroes, All Might's debut video, where he save over 200 people from that one terrible fire incident in Kyoto.
As she opened the door, she saw how Izuku was sitting down and staring dumbly at the screen. She barely heard it but he was whimpering in sadness. When he finally turned around she was shocked at seeing the many tears sliding down his cheeks and onto the chair.
"Mom... c-c-can I b-be a h-h-he-r-ro l-li-ike A-All Mi-i-ght... e-even if I d-d-d-don't h-ave a quirk?!" Izuku managed to stutter out. Inko looked at her child and smiled with tears running down her own face. She quickly got beside him and hugged him. "Of course you can Izuku! Just please promise me that you'll be safe no matter what!" Inko whisper yelled at him as they hugged throughout the night into morning.
The next day, random park
"Kaachan, stop it! He's had enough!" Izuku begged another kid, one who had crimson red eyes and sandy blond hair. This was Katsuki Bakugou, the only kid Izuku's age that legitimately liked him as both a friend, and a rival. They were like 2 complete opposites and yet they were so similar. Whereas Izuku was a total nerd and very smart with a more shy and methodical approach to most people and situations, Katsuki on the other hand was of a 'beat the crap out of them and ask questions later' type of person. However, they both wanted to become pro heroes and make it out there in the career, with both of them admiring All Might.
"Why should I Dekiru, he told me that you and I would most likely become villains behind our backs!? Even after you called his quirk cool!" Katsuki raged at Dekiru. Dekiru was a nickname Izuku received from Katsuki as payback for him calling Katsuki Kaachan: which means mother. Dekiru roughly translates: "you can." Izuku got it because despite his nerdy and shy self, he needed a constant reminder to feed his confidence.
"Because, Kaachan, that's not what heroes do, that's what villains do. If you didn't attack him, then we'd be proving him wrong. Besides, I doubt either of us could become villains, but I think you can become one of the best heroes ever. I can't say the same about me though." Izuku replied gaining a sad tone of voice at the end. By that time the kid that Katsuki was beating up had already ran away.
Katsuki looked at Izuku before asking, "why do you say that Dekiru?" Izuku looks to the ground before answering in a quiet, almost whispering manner. "B-because I'm... quirkless." Katsuki's eyes widened before he started laughing.
He laughed for a full minute before he stopped. He then looked at Izuku before speaking a somehow quieter tone. "Dekiru, I think that you can become a hero, even without a quirk. So whatever you do, don't you dare give up! Cause if you do, I'll never forgive you!!"
That was the day that Izuku decided that he would become a hero like no other.
