city lights twinkled
beneath our eyes,
each twinkle brighter
than our breakable lifes.sadness loomed
over our heads,
its colour midnight
and capri
and lapis lazuli.cherry red tainted your lips,
they trembled
they sung a shrill tune
its colour unknown
to my brush.crimson red splashed
on grey concrete grounds
and painted your
chocolate strands.and as your eyes
fluttered closed
all hope in my chest f a d e d.
the palette had one
less shade of green,
the world had
one less soul.but oh, beautiful emerald
why let your vibrance
be taken
for a dull, hickory shade?
