In disbelieve I looked at her, "You know about it?".
"Sure", she said with such a confidence as if she knew more than I have ever known about Grace.
She has seen the confusion and my irritated face, "You will understand by reading them all", and with this she walked away.
I tried to ask her where I will find the other ones but she was already gone.
So I walked back to the chimney, examinating the pictures, rubbing my chin.
I turned Rylie's picture over and unfolded the metal clips. Another one came out.Dear Ellie,
Today, one year ago, god took you home before we were able to get to know you, before you were ready for this world and before we had a chance to tell you how much you mean to us. Rylie doesn't know about you but deep inside she feels that there's someone missing.
My little sunshine, it tears me apart to know you aren't with us, never being able to hear your little feet lumbering along the hallway. Never being able to hear your sweet laugh as it echoes through our ears. Never being able to see the world through your eyes as you teaches us the hidden beauty in mother nature and the sparkles one can find while taking a closer look at the small things of life. Never being able to see you growing up from a little baby girl to a determined and strong person like your other siblings will become. And still to this day I wish that I would've died along with you, the pain gets stronger everyday and it brought me to the limit of bearing it all, I'm not feeling myself lately and I don't know if I ever will again without you by our side.
-Grace
I remembered the day as we panicly rushed to the hospital. It was her forth time of giving birth but no pregnancy of her was as complicated as this one.
We had more than eight weeks to go and it wasn't even close of getting ready for the final stage of being pregnant, but still something induced labor and we went as fast as possible to the next hospital. She had trouble to breath and already lost blood on our way there.
Soon after I contacted our doctor to check up on her while she has been treated by a nurse. They gave her something for the agitation and some light painkillers for the pain.
Later this evening as the doctor checked on her he told me, "Well, Mr. Jackson, the baby hasn't turned over yet and if this doesn't happen soon she has to get a C-section otherwise it can be risky for the healthy of mother and baby". He poured some more lube on her belly and pressed the ultrasound transducer against her skin, "Oh well, congratulations", he said with a big smile.
"It seems like you are become parents of twins Mr. And Mrs. Jackson".
We both stared at each other with our mouth wide open and barely brought out any words.
"What?", she blinked, staring at him.
"Yes, there's clearly another baby, look", he pointed with his ballpointpen onto the screen.
"But, that also means we have to act now and perform a C-section, there's no way of giving birth to them on a normal way", he said and called for a nurse to initate the upcoming process.
I felt her hand squeezing mine tightly in fear of what was going to happen.
"I know you're afraid, but everything's going to be alright, trust me darling", I tried to calm her down by brushing her softly through her hair.Hours past and and I slowly lost patience, this was taking like forever and I wanted to know if she's alright and finally wanted to meet our newborn babies.
"Mr. Jackson?", a nurse came by, waving me to follow her.
"Your wife is awake now, you can go in if you want".
I literally jumped right off the seat and rushed down the hallway. She laid there, one hand was clutching tightly onto a tissue while her other hand was digged into the plain white sheets.
Her face tearstained as her red eyes burnt at me. I opened my mouth to speak as she slightly shook her head and immeditely avoided eyecontact with me again.
"They took the babies Michael", she whispered with a raspy voice.
I walked over to her, sitting on the edge of the bed, grabbing her hand and caressed it in mine.
"They are on intense care unit, something was wrong with their blood", a few tears dropped from the corner of her eyes down her cheeks.
It broke her heart to not see her babies and it broke mine to see her like that. "Everything is going to be alright", I begrudgingly repeated myself but I just felt that I was responsible for doing anything to help her even if it's just a few positive words. It took the whole evening before a doctor came by. A knock ripped me out of my mere slumber on the chair next to the bed.
"Good evening", he said, closing the door and walking up to the end of her bed.
"I'm Dr. Evan Pierce and respondsible for the children intense care unit", he took a brief look on his clipboard before he continued.
"We are all very sorry to tell you that one of the babies didn't make it out alive, it died only a few hours after the C-section". Just immediatelly after this I heard her cry out in pain and disbelieve. "I can't believe it... what?!", she yelled and after this passed out. The pressure and mental exertion was just too much to bear for her as she collapsed before our very eyes.

Grace (A Michael Jackson Fantasy)
Fiksi PenggemarThis story is an inspiration from an interview outtake I read some time ago. I wanted to create a story with a girl that would fit in Michael's words, how he described the perfect woman, his missing piece. Small remainder - It's all fiction!
