Emily's POV,

"Is it better not knowing something or knowing something which could break your heart?"

I wonder if Hades knew my mother died. I bet he did and he didn't even have the guts to tell me. My own father doesn't have the guts to say to his daughter that her mother died. How pathetic is that?

I also think it's weird Elena thought my mother escaped the car. I mean how dumb is she? Elena could have at least tried to contact my mother to see if she's alive and not go on with her life and forget about my mother. Does she even care about me or my mother? I'm grateful Alaric found out she drowned and has now custody of me but I'm not quite sure if Elena and me are going to be good friends.

I may sound happy to leave Camp-Halfblood but that's only because I haven't been in the outside world much. I'm mostly in the underworld with Nico and dad although I don't see dad often. He's always working but I guess the dead can't wait. Plus I hide my emotions really well so no one finds out what I'm really feeling, which is sadness towards my mother, a bit of hatred towards Elena, upset I have to leave Nico and all my friends and relieved I'm going to move in with my mother's friend. I just hope he isn't abusing or strict.

"Ready Emily?" Chiron asked as I walked towards the border with my bags where my taxi is waiting.

"Yeah." I said, almost whispered.

Nico first gave me a hug. A tear steamed down is have and I wiped it away. I gave Nico a soft smile to let him know everything is going to be alright. We can always communicate with each other and see each other but it still hurts leaving Nico.

"I'll see you later Nico." I said to him as he smiled back and let me go. Nico went back to his usual attitude and leaned against a tree again in the shadows.

Next were Travis and Conner. They both had something in their hands. It looked like a box. They hand it out to me as I picked it up and started unpacking it.

"It's just something to communicate with. We stole the parts while the Hephaestus kids put the peaces together." Travis said as I looked at my new monster free phone.

"It has bluetooth, songs, wifi, apps, and basically everything an IPhone has only better." David, a Hephaestus kid, said.

I gave them all a hug, even Percy, and waved them goodbye before saying. "I'll never forget you guys. Maybe I'll come back here. I'll be in the underworld sometimes so I can visit Nico and I'll try to contact you as much as possible. Thank you all for the gift and goodbye losers!" I said laughing and walking away.

After 10 minutes of walking I stopped, feeling the change of atmosphere. It was darker than usual almost scarier but I don't get scared. At least not that easy. Dad must've known about me leaving.

"Emily." A deep voice behind me said. I was angry at him. How could he not tell me my mother was dead?

"Yes?" I said harshly glaring a little at him. Everyone is afraid of my glared so dad wasn't an acceptation. He widened his eyes before he composed himself and turned to me again.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you about your mother. I just came here to give your something. Zeus, Hecate, Poseidon, Hephaestus, Hermes, Apollo, Demeter, Athena, Artemis and I agreed to this because you would be in danger as soon as you crossed the border. It's a cuff that makes the monsters unable to smell you or sense your power. We all worked on it and had a part in this and we would you to have it." Dad said as he put the cuff on me straight away as if afraid I wouldn't accept it. There was something wrong by the way he did it. "There is something else..."
