His job includes keeping pucks out of the net, he literally has to face pucks at abnormal speed. It doesn't scare him one bit, he loves it. The thrill, the atmosphere, the adrenaline, he loves every single bit of it. But this? This scares the shit out of him. If there was a list with things that scared Freddie, this was right on the top.

Freddie's hands are shaking, his nerves are getting the best of him. He is a grown man, 31 years old, how could this possibly scare him that much? He could have told you all the reason, but the number one reason is that he's just afraid to get rejected. He has no reason to think that, to believe that, but he's still scared. Scared that you would say "no" to him. That one word scares Freddie, is it really worth it? He wonders for a moment, but decides that it's definitely worth it if it means that you would be his forever. There is nothing he wants more than having you as his wife. A dream. A dream that would hopefully come to reality soon. But first, he has to plan a proposal, and it has to be perfect. That's what you deserve, perfection.

Freddie met you thanks to his teammates. If it weren't for them, he would've never had the courage to ask you out. They had bugged him all night, teased him for staring at the most beautiful woman at the bar. While thinking back at the night he met you, he comes up with the perfect way to propose to you. A way to honour the night he met you and a way to, hopefully, start the rest of your lives together, at the same place.

All he needs to do now, is getting his teammates on board with his plans. He won't have to drive a hard bargain for that, they are all ready to see their goalie tie the knot with you. They adore you, you're so good for Freddie. They have seen him grow so much as a person since the day he met you, they couldn't wish for a better person.

Freddie tells them his plan, he tells them what they need to do and the things he need help with. After he finishes his plans, he looks around the room, catching the faces his friends make at him. He feels his cheeks heat up, before muttering. "Don't look at me like that, I just thought it would be cute. She deserves that." Auston is the first to stand up and slaps him on the shoulder. "It's perfect, she will absolutely love it." The room full of friends agrees with Auston completely. Plans are made, actions are put in motion. Operation Proposal is in full swing.

You wake up way earlier than you intended to, thanks to a certain someone forgetting to close the blinds last night. You turn over, expecting Freddie to be there, but the place next to you is empty. You scrunch your brows together. There is no morning practise today, right? Too tired to function properly yet, you decide to snooze for a bit before make yourself a cup of coffee. Or two, maybe three.

As you walk into the kitchen something catches your eye. There is a note on the counter. Opening the note you recognise Freddie's handwriting.

"I need to take care of something today, I'll call you later, baby.
The boys will take good care of you."
