The 2012 Avengers team made their way down a winding dirt road, heading toward Clint's secluded farmhouse. You walked beside Tony, clutching his hand and looking around curiously. This place was so different from the towering skyscrapers and gleaming lab equipment you were used to seeing.
"Dada, where are we going?" you asked, glancing up at Tony, who looked amused by the surroundings.
Tony smirked, glancing over at Clint. "To your Uncle Legolas's house."
Clint groaned, rolling his eyes. "Real nice, Stark."
Tony chuckled. "Hey, I'm just sayin' it like it is. Alright, fine," he said, turning to you. "Your Uncle Clint invited us over to his place."
You nodded, taking it all in as Steve, who was looking around in surprise, remarked, "This looks like a pretty big house for a bachelor."
Thor let out a booming laugh, slapping his hand on Steve's back. "Ha! My room in Asgard is bigger than most of your houses!"
Tony raised an eyebrow. "Alright, show-off, we get it."
Natasha shot Tony a look, her voice dry. "Look who's talking, Mr. Tower-Penthouse."
Bruce sighed, rubbing his temples. "Can we all just...get inside?"
The team let out a collective "Yep," and everyone made their way into the house. As they stepped into the cozy, rustic interior, Clint led them into the living room. The warm scent of home-cooked food and the hum of family life filled the space, a welcome break from the tense missions and chaos they were used to.
Just then, a woman appeared from the hallway, walking over to Clint with a smile before wrapping her arms around him. "Hey, babe. Welcome home."
Tony's eyebrows shot up, and you saw the surprised look in his eyes. He looked down at you, then back at Clint. "Hold up...your face says it all, dada," you whispered with a mischievous grin.
Tony squinted and whispered back, "Can you blame me, kid? I had no idea. Take a look at your other uncles; they're all just as stunned as I am."
Bruce's face was a mixture of confusion and surprise. Thor looked entirely out of place, glancing at Clint and the woman with an almost comical level of bewilderment. Clint noticed everyone's expressions and, with a small, slightly sheepish smile, held his arm around her and introduced her. "Everyone, this is my wife, Laura."
Laura waved with a warm smile, her eyes twinkling as she took in the group. Everyone, aside from Natasha and you, offered an awkward wave and smile. Natasha, who had her arms crossed, smirked at them all, clearly enjoying their reactions. It seemed she already knew, and her subtle satisfaction didn't go unnoticed.
Just then, a pitter-patter of little footsteps echoed from down the hallway, and a couple of kids came rushing in, launching themselves into Clint's arms. Clint chuckled, scooping them up, and the two children giggled in excitement.
Steve's eyebrows rose even higher as he watched the scene unfold. Thor's face had shifted from confusion to something that bordered on discomfort, as though he'd rather be anywhere else than witnessing this domestic reunion. You stood between Tony and Bruce, trying not to laugh at their bewildered faces.
"You guys look way too shocked," you finally piped up, glancing between them all.
Tony looked down at you, still speechless. "Yeah, well...I'm...too stunned to speak," he muttered, staring back at Clint and Laura. Bruce had a similarly lost look, still processing the fact that Clint had a whole family he'd never known about.
Steve broke the silence, stepping forward with a kind smile. "Congratulations, Clint. You have a beautiful family."
Clint nodded in thanks, a genuine smile lighting up his face, while Thor muttered something under his breath that sounded suspiciously like, "I need to return to Asgard. Mortal drama..."
Tony cleared his throat, recovering slightly. "I would've brought gifts or something, but I didn't exactly know there was a Mrs. Barton and little Bartons," he said, gesturing at Clint and Laura. "Legolas here keeps secrets, too."
Clint rolled his eyes but grinned at Tony. "Well, I wouldn't mind the gifts."
Laura nudged him with a laugh. "Clint!" she chided gently, and Clint chuckled sheepishly.
"Sorry, babe," he murmured with a wink, earning an eye roll from Laura.
Just then, you felt a faint but familiar sensation—a strange hum in the air, a crackling of something just out of sight. The same sensation you'd felt the last time Mobius had appeared at Stark Mansion. Without waiting, you tiptoed out of the living room, sneaking through the doorway and toward the yard.
As you reached the edge of the house, a blue portal opened up just as Steve and Bruce noticed you slipping out and followed. Bruce jogged up, calling after you, "Hey! Wait up, kid!"
When they saw the swirling blue portal, both men halted, staring as Mobius emerged, adjusting his tie with a tired sigh. Steve exchanged a look with Bruce, clearly unnerved, and gave you a worried glance.
Mobius looked at them all with a slightly exasperated smile. "Hey, sorry about the unannounced visit. I'm Mobius M. Mobius, TVA Agent." He looked around at their expressions, his smile wavering when he didn't receive the warmest welcome. Both Steve and Bruce looked on guard.
Steve raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms, his look as blunt as his words. "Who?"
Bruce gave Mobius a skeptical look. "TVA? Never heard of it."
Mobius cleared his throat, chuckling awkwardly as he realized he was dealing with a tough crowd. He waited for a beat, as though expecting applause or recognition, but when no one reacted, he went silent.
You stepped forward, arms crossed with a sigh. "Don't mind them, Mr. Mobius. They're just being difficult." You grinned mischievously, already more comfortable with him. "So, did you go to the future? What news do you have for me?"
Mobius seemed relieved by your directness, ignoring Steve and Bruce's suspicion. He leaned down, resting his hands on his knees to meet your gaze. "I did go to the future, kid. And I've got some updates for you." He gave you a wink. "Let's just say things are looking...eventful."
Steve interrupted, stepping forward protectively. "Hold on. This 'TVA'—who exactly are you, and why are you here with a kid involved?"
Mobius straightened up and shrugged. "It's a little complicated, but the TVA is responsible for, let's say, 'keeping things in check' when it comes to the timeline." He looked at you with a nod. "This kid here's got some, uh, unique circumstances. But nothing we can't handle."
Bruce frowned, still skeptical. "And you're saying the timeline is in danger?"
Mobius put his hands up defensively. "Not danger exactly. Just...getting a little complicated." He leaned closer to you, smirking. "And your dad back there has no clue about any of it, huh?"
You grinned, nodding. "Yup. Just a little secret between friends." You shot a look back at Steve and Bruce, who were still eyeing Mobius with doubt.
Mobius gave you a reassuring smile. "Alright then, I'll be back when the time machine has been fixed. But remember, no more sneaking around the timeline, alright? Stay put." He gave a playful wag of his finger before stepping back into the portal.
As he vanished, Steve and Bruce exchanged a troubled look, then turned to you with identical expressions of suspicion and curiosity. Steve knelt down to your level, his face softening. "Kid...please don't get in anymore trouble,"
You put on your best innocent smile, shrugging casually. "No promises..."
Bruce groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose, and Steve sighed, knowing they'd need more than one conversation to get the truth out of you. But for now, you just gave them both a cheerful grin, knowing you had your own little adventure yet to come.
