Bridget sat across from Viviana as the two of them enjoyed their burgers and shakes from Wildflower. "I'm so glad you could get lunch today, I'm sorry it was on such short notice." Bridget apologized, but was thankful Viviana took the time out of her day to spend time with her."I always make time for you Bridgie, besides it's been so long, and I've missed my best friend." Viviana replied cheerfully before taking a fry off her plate.
"I know, and I've missed you too Viv, I'm sorry I never reached out or anything. I was really out of whack when I left." Bridget sighed, trying her best to push aside the chaotic memories from five years ago out of her brain.
"Well, I've forgiven you, and can we talk about Juliet? Oh. My. God, she is adorable!" She squealed.
Bridget blushed, "thanks Viv, hopefully you two can actually meet. She seemed really excited to spend the day with Greyson."
"Yeah, now spill the tea on you two. Then and now, I'm dying, I literally sit around all day cause I can't move. I need tea!" Viviana begged, making Bridget crack up.
"Shocking as it may seem Viv, there's nothing. All I can tell you is that we've decided to just be friends, for Juliet's sake and for the sake of making work better for us. And it's been good, I forgot how much I enjoyed solving mysteries with him." Bridget felt her cheeks warm up.
"You're blushing, oh my god you still have feelings! Bridgie! You two HAVE to go on a dinner date or something." Viviana squealed as she bounced up and down in her seat.
"You've got to calm down, I don't need to go around trying to relive my high school days with him, and I know he doesn't want that either. We just need to be close enough to get along so we can make Juliet happy. You should've seen how excited she was last night when I finally told her the truth."
"What'd she do?"
"I've never seen her look that excited about anything or anyone before. She was jumping up and down on her bed and grinning like I've never seen before. She was overjoyed to find out he was her father, so much so that she didn't even get mad at me for never telling her."
"She's four, they don't tend to hold grudges. I'm sure she's having a great time with him, he's always been weirdly good with kids." Viviana pointed out.
Bridget giggled, "Ha, yeah that's true. All those times I helped him with his sister Jordyn, showed me how much of a softie is on the inside." She smiled happily.
"And you say you don't have feelings." Viviana gave Bridget a sly smirk, "Whatever, I still ship it, and I will be playing matchmaker from the sidelines. I need something to occupy my time before baby Anderson arrives in the next month." Viviana patted her stomach.
"Do you know if it's a girl or a boy?"
"He's a boy, we found out at the six month mark. Neither one of us could've waited any longer to find out." Viviana answered cheerfully.
"Ooh that's so exciting! I'm so happy for you Viv, Austin must be excited."
"Yeah, he's already planning on how he's going to teach him how to play football." Viviana gushed, but rolled her eyes at her husband's antics.
"Are you kidding? He'll be a great player! If he's got Austin's skill and your brain, he'll be unstoppable." Bridget joked and Viviana had to laugh.
"I suppose you're right, maybe he'll be a great athlete some day. But for now, he'll be my little boy and I'll try and keep him away from all that as long as I can."
"Good luck with that, football is unavoidable, especially if his father was the star quarterback during highschool."
"Maybe I'll get lucky he won't like it." Viviana laughed.
