Jay's P.O.V

Next day Missy was back in school. I was walking down the corridor when some weirdo from year 12 sidled up to me.

"Your sisters hot you know," he said. I carried on walking.

"Give us her number," he ordered me.

"Fuck no!" I told him.

"Why she has already been with everyone else, why not me?" he asked. That was when I absolutely lost it. I punched him hard in the side of his head. Of course he started fighting back and so did most of his mates. I was kicking them and punching them but of course I was losing. What could I do against a bunch of 17 year old's? A massive group gathered round us. That was when Mr Bell and Mr Simpson ran over and began pulling us apart.

"You lot Miss Carter's office now!" Mr Bell yelled to the sixth formers. Then he turned back to me.

"Alright Jay calm down. Deep breaths," he said. I was trying to get past him to the twat that insulted Missy.

~half an hour later~

I was sitting in isolation bored stiff when Miss Carter walked in. She spoke to whoever it was on duty. Few minutes later she came over to me.

"Right Jay can you come to my office please." I grabbed my stuff and followed her out. When we got there all the year 12's were waiting.

"Right boys what on earth happened in the corridor today?" Miss Carter asked.

"The phsycopath attacked me," the original guy said.

"Did you?" Miss Carter asked me.

"Yep!" I said proudly.

"Why?" she sighed.

"He was saying shit about my sister," I replied.

"So you hit him?"

"Yes," I said again. I mean why would I lie? About 50 people saw what I did.

"Right well all of you have detention for a week," Miss Carter said. We all groaned. I did feel a bit bad for the guys mates. They hadn't done much but I didn't say owt.

"You can all go except Jay. I need to talk to you," Miss Carter said. That was when I started panicking. What if she knew about Nana?

"Jay I know you want to protect your sisters but you just need to tone down the way you do it," Miss Carter said, smiling slightly. I was relieved if I am being honest.

"Sorry Miss," I apologised.

"Right you can go now."

"Thanks Miss." I walked out of her office and bumped into Missy. She looked pretty happy.

"I told Miss Keane and she gave us a grand for the cremation," she told me.

"No way!" I was surprised. I mean a teacher giving a student money.

"Did you really get in a fight for me?" she asked.

"Yeah sorry," I said while looking at my shoes. Missy pulled me into a tight hug. I was taken a back. I thought she would be annoyed that I was in trouble again.

~after school~

I got home and saw that Hayley and mum were sitting on the sofa. I was kinda surprised but I guessed that Missy invited her. I didn't want to talk so I walked past them and straight upstairs. I spent about 20 minutes playing on my phone when I could hear yelling coming from downstairs. I left my room and ran down to see what was going on. When I walked in I wasn't really sure what was going on. Mum and Missy were each holding half of a blanket and Hayley was standing watching them. Then things got violent. Missy grabbed mum and threw her out. Pushing and shoving and yelling. Me and Hayley ran after them.

"Get off her Missy," Nas yelled as she ran out onto the street. Lots of people were gathered around them now. Nas dragged Missy off her.

"STAY AWAY FROM US!" Missy screamed. Mum walked off down the street. Missy turned to Hayley. Hayley seemed pretty upset about it.

"We are better off without her," Missy said through gritted teeth. Hayley obviously didn't agree.

"I WISH IT WERE YOU THAT DIED!" Hayley screamed and she shoved Missy hard. Hayley stormed inside and I followed her.

"Jay..." Missy started say to but I just followed Hayley. She stormed inside and all the way to her room. I followed her.

"Hayley," I whined and I grabbed her arm. She turned around with tears streaming down her face.

~that night~

I couldn't sleep. I felt crap and I didn't know who's side to be on. I walked out into the corridor and saw Hayley going up to Missy's room. I followed her. When we got to the top, Missy was lying in bed crying her eyes out.

"Can I get in bed with you?" Hayley asked quietly. Missy pulled the duvet back. I just stood there at the top of the stairs. It was hard enough for two people to fit in her bed nevermind three.

"You too," Missy said to me.

"I won't fit," I said.

"Yeah you will. Come on," she said. We all snuggled up together. It wasn't very comfy but I couldn't complain.

"I am sorry," Hayley whispered.
