Jay's P.O.V.

Me and Hayley walked to school the next day. We got to reception and Miss Keane and Miss Carter were there.

"No Missy today?" Miss Keane asked.

"Why would I know?" I snapped back.

"You're her brother," Miss Carter said.

"Well she's being a bitch at the moment but looks like she is here," I said as I saw Missy walking in with Nas.

Missy's P.O.V.

I saw Hayley and Jay walk inside.

"Missy you alright?" Miss Keane asked me.

"Yeah," I replied.

"You not talking to them?" Miss Keane asked and she nodded to where Hayley and Jay had gone.

"No I messed up," I told her. She smiled supportively at me and I went inside.

Jay's P.O.V.

~after school~

Mum was lying asleep on the sofa, Hayley was sitting at the table and I was lying on the floor. The door opened and Aaron walked in.

"She's out," Hayley said to him.

"Yeah I've come to see you," he said.

"You wouldn't be the first one to mess her about you know," Hayley spat. I just lay on the floor. I don't think Aaron had seen me and if he did he was ignoring me. Aaron was struggling for words.

"I don't know what it is you think I am gonna do," he said.

"Do you really care about her?" I asked him as I sat up.

"Yeah I do," he answered. He looked a bit confused as to where I had come from.

"Then leave her alone," Hayley told him. Aaron didn't know what to say. He looked at her, then at mum. He shook his head and walked out the house. I lay back down on the floor.

"If that lad don't come back, it's not being stuck with me you should be worried about love," Mum said.

~few hours later~

Missy came home and ignored us. She went straight up to her room.

I am guessing Mum felt bad for Aaron because next day she invited him round for a cuppa. I was going downstairs with Hayley when we heard them talking. She sat down on the stairs and so did I.

"Don't be to hard on Hayley or Jay. They don't mean owt by it. They've not had much care from me. It's always been our Missy looking out for them you know. Doing what mothers do. Not had much faith in me," Mum said.

"Hey come on don't believe that," I heard Aaron say.

"No love you don't have to say," Mum sighed, "I know what I am. She don't trust me. That's me own fault. But I just want you to know they ain't bad kids." Hayley was quietly crying and I rubbed her back.

"Missy told me what they been through. Dad bottled it," Aaron said.

"Stuck together they did," Mum told him.

"Yeah that's why I don't wanna get in between them. I just, I am not gonna come back," Aaron told Mum. Hayley's head shot up and I began to panic. We had really fucked it up this time.

"Aaron, but what about our Missy?" Mum shouted after him.

"Honest I don't want to. It's just she cares about them too much and  I care about her so it's the right thing to do. I am sorry," Aaron replied. Hayley put her head in her hands.

~that night~

Missy came home and Mum explained about what Aaron had said. Everyone was in a bad mood and Mum didn't know what to do. She didn't know what to do when her kids got on nevermind when they didn't. At about half eight, I went into Hayley's room.

"We need to do something," I said.

"I know," she replied.

"We could go talk to him?" I suggested.

"Yeah good idea," Hayley agreed, "Me and Raz will go tomorrow."

"But I want to come," I complained.

"You would lose your temper though and that wouldn't help," she said. I sighed. I knew she was right.

~a few hours later~

I decided to go to my room and Missy followed me. She kept treading on the back of my feet. It was really pissing me off. To be honest I shouldn't be annoyed at her, she hadn't done anything wrong. It was me and Hayley who ruined her relationship.

"Oh my God fucking stop," I yelled at her. She ignored me and carried on doing it. I spun around and pushed her away.

"Ow what the fuck!" she shouted. Mum ran out of the living room.

"Guys stop," she told us but we were on a roll now.

"Not my fault you keep treading on my feet," I shouted at Missy.

"Not my fault that Aaron left," she yelled.

"Not my fault either," I spat, "He chose to leave."

"Because of you!"

"No not because of me!"

"You are just so over protective!"

"Fine next time someone is rude about you I won't help," I yelled and turned away. Missy grabbed my shoulder and I spun back to face her. Her face was full of anger and I am sure mine was too.

"Stop!" Mum yelled. We both turned to her. Mum had yelled and she wasn't on drugs!

"Both of you go to bed now!" she said.

"But Mum I can do what I want," moaned Missy, "I am not a kid."

"Just go," Mum said. We both stormed upstairs.
