How Did This Happen To Us

Back to Degrassi

I woke up to the alarm clock by my bed. I groaned first day back at degrassi. After the wonderful summer in paris with Tristan I didn't want it to end. I mean its not like I can't wait to see everybody and meet all the new freshman but my number one priority right now was to catch up on all of my sleep.

I finally got up took a shower and picked out my clothes for today. I decided on a black tank top and turquoise shorts with my short top black converse. I let my hair go wavy and just threw on some lip gloss, nothing special. Ran down stairs grabbed an apple and some money for lunch right before I yelled to my mom goodbye.

I walk up the steps to the beloved degrassi and go right to the gym for the welcome back assembly. I spot Tristan going in and give him a big hug. He squeals when he realizes its me "oh my god maymat you scared me but I love you anyways!" He turns around to examine my outfit he says "oooo very rocker chick/ maybe even groupee, I love it!"

We go in and take our seats on the sophomore side of the gym. I didn't even notice it until I looked to my right. I gasped "Tori??" She looked over with gleaming eyes basically screaming " oh my god maya matlin!" she turned herself around hugging my until i could breath. she saw tristan too and of course raced over to him and hugged him. I smiled and noticed who was sitting next to her, Zig. I was curious for a moment until he saw me looking at him. He told me that him and Tori had gotten back together over the summer since I didn't answer any of his calls, texts, or emails over the summer. I simply just said " Oh that's nice, I'm really happy for you and Tori, your really great together." He just smiled and said bleakly " Thanks."

Don't get me wrong I like Zig as a friend. I mean I know that didn't look like it last year but after all that happened with Cam and everything Zig was one of my only friends that stood by me. But I still didn't really have feelings for him, not like I did before at least. I just wanna be friends this year and not lovers or even enemies.

The assembly was pretty boring and didn't really say much. On my way to homeroom with Tristan and Tori they were talking about all the fashion in Paris and how much Tori missed out. When we finally got there we all sat down together. Then all of a sudden someone who I had never seen before walks into class. He goes over to the teachers desk and asks where does he sit. of course the seating chart goes by the first intial of you first name so the teacher asks "what's your name?" He says "Miles Miles Hollingsworth"
