With raised eyebrows, Harry watches Niall walk through the door of the bakery. "You're late." He says while he finishes wiping the counter.

Niall takes off his sunglasses and looks at the clock right behind his friend. "Oh come on Haz, it's nine minutes. I bet a twenty you that no one's even been in here yet."

The left corner of Harry's mouth pulls upward. "Because I'm such a good friend, I won't take you up on that bet, because you will loose, my friend." Harry says and holds up two fingers. "I've already served two customers."

"Oh, big whoop." Niall says and sticks out his tongue while making his way around the counter. He gets an apron from underneath it and quickly ties it behind his back.

He turns around and gives himself a once over in the mirror, fixing his shirts collar before he sees a customer walking towards the counter. "Good morning, welcome to Baked in Style, what can I get you today?"

"Hi, I'd like two chocolate croissants please." The customer, a sweet girl, says and Niall nods his head as he repeats the order to himself. "Two choc crossies. Two choc crossies." He boxes them and walks back to the cash register. "That will be two pounds fifty five and your number please."

The girl giggles. "Nice try, but not today Niall." She hands over the money. "Here's the money though."

Niall pouts and folds his arms over his chest. "Oh come on Amanda, if not today, then when? I can't wait forever you know."

"You know what they say Niall, the best things in life are worth waiting for." Amanda answers before sending a wink the Irishman's way.

"I'm pretty sure the saying goes, 'the best things in life are worth fighting for'." Niall says, using air quotes before he folds his arms back over his chest again. "But I guess I'll just have to move on then. You've been dodging me for ages."

Next to him, Harry rolls his eyes. "Oh come on Ni, you've only seen her twice before, and that was last week." He winks at Amanda. "Enjoy your croissants Mandy."

"Thanks love." Amanda says before making her way out of the bakery.

Niall gasps as he watches Amanda leave and turns towards Harry, punching his shoulder. "Who's side are you on anyway, you're literally the worst wing man ever."

Harry walks over to his work station and starts rolling up his sleeves. "That's the thing Ni." He starts sifting flour onto the work surface. "When we go out, I'll be your wing man. Damn, I will be the best wing man you could ever ask for." He takes a piece of dough and starts kneading it. "But here, in this store, I'm your boss." Next he takes the rolling pin and starts running it back and forth over the dough. "And you have got to respect the customers when they say no."

Niall huffs. "Fine. But she's gonna miss it when I don't ask her anymore."

"Then that's her problem, yeah?" Harry says, chuckling at his best friends' antics.

Niall thinks for a moment and then turns back towards the front of the bakery. "I like the way you think, Haz. I should play hard to get. Give her some of her own medicine."

Harry rolls his eyes and shakes his head. "That's not what I was thinking or saying, Ni."

Niall only waves him off. "You say tomato, I say tomahto." He says grabbing a book from underneath the counter and starts paging through it.

"Yeah, yeah, tomahto. Have you checked today's orders yet?" Harry wants to know.

"Busy doing it right now." Niall confirms and drags his pointer finger over the page.
