“Yes.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Yes, Harry.” Niall says sternly, pointing a finger at the green eyed man.

“They’ll be done in a few minutes and then I’ll head out.” Harry replies while gesturing to the cupcakes in the oven, adamant to stay put and finish them before he heads home.

“Believe it or not, but I know how to check if cupcakes are baked through, you lanky pregnant elephant-man.” Niall teases and for a hot second thinks he might have to start running for his life judging by the look Harry gives him. But then he smiles because Harry’s currently thirty six weeks pregnant and the best he could do is waddle at a snail’s pace.

“Shut up you stout little leprechaun-man. I hate you.” Harry pouts and lets out an audible huff.

“That’s no way to talk to your lucky charm, I’d say.” Niall states matter-of-factly, suddenly very intrigued with picking his nails while resting his hip against the counter.

“I could say the same.” Harry lets him hear, huffing out a breath once more when the sound of the Irishman’s laughter fills the front of the bakery.

“You’re not Irish, you loser.” Niall states the obvious. “You literally can’t be a lucky charm.”

“I’m the father of your God children.” Harry retorts, firmly believing it trumps being a stupid lucky charm or whatever the fuck Niall convinced himself he is.

“Exactly.” Niall’s eyes grows wide and Harry’s sure his friend had just remembered something. He’s right. "And if you want the two of them to have a God father when they get born, then you’ll get your flat arse back home to your husband before he has my head.” He adds while pointing at Harry’s stomach.

“Ah.” Harry coos mockingly. “Scared of my husband, are you?”

Niall rolls his eyes. “Yeah, right. Very scared.” He concedes before making his way towards Harry, taking him by the hand and leading him to the entrance of the bakery where they see Liam waiting in his car, ready to drive the green eyed man home.

Harry smiles and turns around- throwing his arms around his friend’s neck and hugging him tightly. “Don’t really hate you, Ni.” He whispers into Niall’s ear and leaves a playful kiss to his cheek before making his way to the car.

“Yeah. Yeah.” Niall rolls his eyes. “Love you too.” He chimes up and Harry can’t help the giggles escaping his throat. “Make sure you send enough clothes for all three of them, Liam promised them we’ll bake chocolate chip cookies.”

“Okay.” Harry replies before getting into the car. “Thank you.” He adds sincerely and smiles when Niall only blows him a kiss.

“You ready to have some time off?” Liam asks as soon as they pull away. “I know Lou’s excited about having you all to himself for a bit.”

Harry smiles, because yes, he too is excited about getting to spend some alone time with his better half. Raising three kids is no easy feat, but with the amount of joy and love that comes with it, Harry wouldn’t change it for anything in this world.

They’ve been married for five years now, they’re actually celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary in two months.

A few months after Jo-Anne was born, the two men kind of forgot the self-imposed “we’ve got to be careful every three months” rule and when Harry went to see Ed a few weeks later, he almost wanted to cry when the doctor told them they’re expecting again. Twins this time.

So Harry, with the help of Niall, planned his dream wedding and waddled down the aisle towards a teary-eyed Louis another few months later. The latter absolutely did not stutter through his vows while Harry tried not to smile that day.

Who are we kidding though? It literally took that man more than fifteen minutes to tell the green eyed man how much he loved and adored him, but he didn’t stop until he was done.

A few month later, Abigail and Samantha, also known as the twins, arrived and this time around the two men kept in mind to throw caution to the wind every three months. That is of course only until earlier this year when Harry convinced Louis to try one more time “for a boy” was the words he used to seal the deal.

To be honest, neither of them really cared about the gender, they would be happy as long as the baby is healthy. But both men knew they wanted a big family.

A few weeks later Ed confirmed they’re expecting once again. Both men sobbed when the doctor confirmed it’s another set of twins. Anne and Jay laughed hysterically at the news and Niall took front and centre stage, throwing himself on the floor at the news that they’re expecting twin boys. They’d be named Edward and William once they’re born.

But to get back to Liam’s question. “Yes.” Harry confirms and smiles sweetly while running his hand over his swollen stomach. “Thank you for taking the girls tonight, Li.” He says when resting his head back against the headrest.

“It’s our pleasure, Haz. You know that.” Liam replies softly and Harry does know. He also knows that Liam and Niall has been an absolute Godsend since the day Jo-Anne was born. There is no doubt in his mind that the two men loved his children like they were their own.

Harry nods and sends him a sweet smile, his mind drifting to the foot and shoulder massage Louis had promised him this morning. He in turn promised Louis a back massage and then of course the sleep they would finally get to catch up on.

And when Liam stops in front of their house a few minutes later and Harry gets greeted by a chorus of “Hello papa. Bye papa” He thinks he might melt. He only watches his girls scurry out of the house and pile into Liam’s car, snuggling into Louis’ side as they watch them drive off before making their way back inside where Louis had put his cooking skills to the test and prepared him a lovely meal. He recalls the older man mentioning something about chicken stuffed with mozzarella cheese- or something. He’s not too sure. What he does know, is that it was absolutely delicious.

And when he’s lying on the couch a little later with his feet propped on Louis lap while the latter gently massages them just like he had promised, Harry can’t help but think that he loves this man more than life itself. And maybe someday he’ll learn what he has done right to deserve having him in his life, but until that day comes, he vows to simply love him with every fibre of his being.
