The lunch bell rang and the whole class cheered in relief and excitement.
Finally being free from the classroom they were in since 2 hours, the students quickly packed their bags and left the room to the cafeteria to enjoy the lunch break. Everyone seemed excited except Nirvani. She was still in her seat, packing her books into her bag rather slowly.
She was pouting slightly since today, she was alone as her friends were absent and she was also feeling very lazy. It was as if when she would close her eyes, she would fall asleep right on the spot. Finally finishing packing, Nirvani stood up and walked to the noisy cafeteria.
Nirvani quietly scanned the food in the warmer before buying her food and walking out of the cafeteria, to the tables that are set outside, all around the school campus. She looked around for an empty table and spotted one which was under the cool shade of a tree, the place felt cool which was great since today was a bit more hot than usual.
She walked to the table, claiming it and sat down immediately. As she was about to dig in to her food, her phone buzzed. Nirvani frowned slightly as she took out her phone seeing that Mr Kim had sent her a text message.
Nirvani, are you in class? - Appa
No, it's lunch break Appa - Nirvani
Nirvani replied to his message and right on cue, Nirvani's phone rang – the caller ID reading "Appa"
"Yoboseyo (Hello) "Nirvani said, answering the call. "Oh, hello Nirvani. How's school so far?"Mr Kim asked and Nirvani groaned deeply in reply. Mr Kim laughed and Nirvani smiled lazily. "It's okay but I think I'll fall asleep anytime Appa. Anyway, did you want something?"Nirvani asked and Mr Kim hummed.
"I had been calling and texting Ashita a while ago but she wasn't responding so I decided to call you. Nirvani, I want you and Ashita to be ready tonight by 7 because we're going to a dinner party"Mr Kim said and Nirvani frowned.
"A dinner party?"she asked. "Yeah, it's one of my closest friend's birthday dinner party and he invited you girls too so be ready by 7. You and Ashita, both"Mr Kim said and Nirvani whined. "But Appa....I don't want to go"she whined and Mr Kim exhaled sharply.
"Doesn't matter. You're going along with Ashita, no matter what! Remember to tell Ashita about this evening and be ready, I won't be able to pick you up but my friend's son will come to pick you girls up, okay? So, I'll see you at the dinner tonight! Bye dear"Mr Kim said sternly, his voice softening at the end before he ended the call.
