This one is not an AU, I wanted to try something a little different. But please, still enjoy Dahlings.

"Dean!" Castiel ran into the barn just in time to see the last vampire throw Dean up against the wall. Cas gripped the machete and charged at the tall, bulky creature. With one smooth, swift swing, Cas chopped off the vamps head and watched the lifeless body crumple to the ground. Cas glanced around to check for any more vampires from the nest, but it seemed Dean had taken care of the rest. Castiel dropped the machete and ran to his best friend's side, checking for a pulse. He felt so useless just sitting there, not able to heal Dean since he lost his grace. Cas sighed in relief when he felt a small beat against his fingers. He picked Dean's bruised and bloody body from the hay covered ground and carried him over to the impala. Cas carefully laid Dean down in the backseat, then removed his trenchcoat. He bunched it up and placed it under Dean's head as a makeshift pillow. The cold, winter air pushed its way through Cas's wind breaker and he shivered. He hated being cold. He hated that Vampire. He hated not being able to help Dean. He hated feeling useless. He hated being Human. All Cas was feeling then was anger and hate. Cas heard the roar and purr of the engine and pulled out of the dirt driveway, speeding back toward the bunker.

The ride was uncomfortably quiet. Cas didn't bother turning the radio, but instead focused on the sound of Dean's breathing, always making sure he still was.

He'll be fine, he always is. Cas told himself over and over. After what felt like forever, the bunker came into view and Cas pulled the car over. The car fell silent and Cas opened the whining door. He did the same for Deans, pulling his limp body out, slinging one arm over his shoulder and half dragged him to the large, metal door, grunting the whole way. He unlocked the door and stepped inside, pulling Dean along with him.

"Sam!" Cas called out to the younger Winchester. He heard the heavy footsteps walking into the main room while adjusting Dean on his shoulder, preparing himself to walk down the steep metal steps.

"Whats up- Dean!" Sam ran up the steps to help carry Dean down the stairs as soon as he saw the unconscious body. "What happened?"

"A vampire" Cas grunted again, shifting Dean once more.

"Was he bitten? Or-or turned" Sam asked a fearful looked shown on his face.

"No, but he was thrown against the wall pretty hard. He was knocked unconscious."

They made it to the infirmary, and they placed Dean gently on a bed.

"Now what? Neither of us know what we're doing?" Cas looked at Sam through the corner of his eye, knowing he felt just as helpless as he did. "I'll call Rowena, she can probably help."

Cas nodded and Sam left the room. He walked over to the side of Dean's bed, sitting in a nearby chair. He fidgeted with his fingers, not knowing what to do with them.

"C'mon Dean, wake up. You have to. We still need you. I still need you. I can't lose you, not yet." Cas felt tears rise to his eyes, something that happened rarely. "I just-" He took a shaky breath. "I'm just not ready to move on from you, so I need you back. I need you to wake up."

There was no reaction, no movement coming from Dean. Cas stood up running a hand through his spiky black hair.

"Damn it Dean, Wake Up!!" Castiel threw a small pot off the table, watching it shatter on the ground. He kicked the leg of a small bedside table, breaking it, then picked it up and slammed it against the wall. "WAKE UP!" Cas pushed his back against the wall, sliding to the ground. He's never felt like this before. Dean's been hurt more times than he can count, he always gets back up again, but this felt different. It felt different from the second Cas watched him fall to the ground in the barn. "Please Dean." Cas sobbed. "Please, I need you. Don't go. I know you're fading, I can feel it. Please just wake up. I can't lose you. You and Sam, you're all I have left, so please wake up. Wake up Dean." Cas was begging, eyes closed, head leaning against the wall, looking up at the pale, faded ceiling. "I love you, Dean. And I can't lose you." Cas held his breath, realizing what he just said. But it was true. He did love Dean. He realized that from the moment he met him, he was going to fall, not just from heaven, but for Dean too. "Please Dean."

"Ah, the handsome angel." A sweet, scottish voice filled the room. "What a mess this is." Rowena commented, looking at the shattered pot and broken table."

"Hello Rowena." Cas stood, smiling at the red headed witch.

"Hello dear. Now let's take a look at your poor Dean." She walked over to the side of Dean's bed, inspecting him. Rowena placed her bag on a nearby table, pulling out a seance mat, a wooden bowl, a black cat skull, blood of a djinn, nail of a werewolf and a small vial of goofer dust.

"You could tell what's wrong with him that fast?" Cas jumped, not noticing that Sam had appeared beside him, too focused on Dean's pale face.

"Oh Sam, when you're as great and powerful as me, simple things, such as a head injury, are not hard to notice." Sam sigh-laughed, and smiled carringly at Rowena. "He's in a coma, but he's fading fast. It seems a fractured skull is the problem." She started placing the items into the bowl.

"Can he- can he hear us?" Cas asked. He didn't know what answer he wanted to hear.

"Maybe, maybe not. But we'll find out when he wakes." Cas nodded, his attention back on Dean. Rowena chanted some laten spell, crushing up the ingredients. She lit a match before dropping it in and watching everything erupt in flames. The flames sputtered out in a matter of seconds, and everything inside the bowl was liquid. Rowena took out a small cloth and dipped it into the potion she created. Walking over to Dean, she dabbed the cloth at his forehead, whispering an incantation. The liquid glowed a bright purple on Dean's face. The liquid seeped into his skin and disappeared. Color returned to Dean's face, and he gasped, eyes flying open. He coughed, reaching his fingers to his forehead where the liquid had been. He hissed in pain at the touch. "The pain will go away in a few hours, but leave it be until then."

"What the hell happened?" Dean removed his fingers from his head, glancing around at his friends.

"Oh, Sam and Castiel will explain. I have to go. Goodbye boys." Rowena waved before walking away.

"Thank you, Rowena." Sam smiled at her.

"Anytime." She closed the door with a confident stride.

"I'll be back with a broom," Sam said, looking at the mess that was still there.

"Yah, sorry about that."

"It's fine, I get it. You got to take your anger out somehow." Sam left to retrieve the broom, leaving Castiel and Dean.

"Are you gonna tell me what happened or are you gonna walk away too?" Dean questioned.

"You fractured your skull at the vampire nest we were hunting down." Cas couldn't make eye contact with Dean, so he looked at his feet.

"Cas, I heard you." Dean said quietly. Castiel nodded slowly. "Did you- Did you mean it? Any of it?"

"All of it" Cas's voice was low and scratchy.

"I love you too Cas." Castiel took a deep breath at those 5 words, relaxed and calm. "It took me awhile to realize it but I know now. I love you too" Cas smiled, gentle but awkward. Dean stood up, walking over to the short fallen angel. He wrapped his arms around his neck, pulling him into a hug. When they pulled away, Cas looked into Dean's eyes. His subtle forest green eyes that made Cas's heart jump. Dean placed his hand under his chin, leaning down to kiss. Their lips met, and Cas could feel Dean steady breathing. He was so calm. Someone cleared their throat beside them and the boys jumped apart. Sam was standing there, camera in hand. "Damn it, Sammy"

"Took you two long enough." He turned his phone around, showing Dean and Cas their first kiss. "I'm making dinner so get cleaned up." Sam turned around and left once more, leaving Dean and Cas to return to their make out session.
