Darkness surrounds me and I just can't seem to escape it's grips.
Gaege jolts awake, sitting up in his bed, panting. He can feel moisture and he looks down at the bed, seeing as he must have been sweating throughout the night. He sighs and looks at the clock on his wall. It read, in big bold letters, 9:26.
"Shit, I have an interview. I almost forgot. Good going, Gaege." he mumbled to himself and gets up. He goes over to his closet and grabs a pair of clothes, deciding it was best to take a shower now instead of later. He glances back at the now empty bed, making a note in his head to wash his sheets when he gets out of the shower.
He walks into the bathroom, flicking the light switch to the on position, closing the door behind himself. He grabs a towel from the cabinet and throws it on the counter. He opens the shower door and turns the water on, closing the door back he begins to strip.
He steps into the shower and lets the water run over him, relaxing his shoulders and the hot liquid runs over him, his muscles going slack. He likes to let the water run over him and listen to the water, it gives him a sense of peace and lets his mind ease for a second, not having to worry about the outside world for a little bit. A little bit to him was better than nothing at all.
After a long shower, exactly an hour and a half that is, Gaege steps out of the shower, drying off and wrapping the towel around his waist. He wiped the mirror off with the palm of his hand, looking at himself. He grabbed his toothbrush, putting some toothpaste on and wetting the brush, placing it in his mouth and beginning to brush his teeth.
Once he was done brushing his teeth, he grabbed his clothes off the counter, getting dressed. He placed his towel in the very much full clothes bin, sighing, making another mental note to wash his clothes when he got home, but he knew he was gonna forget the second he walked out of the bathroom. He went back to the mirror and fixed his hair, going for his natural everyday look.
He walked into his room grabbing some socks out of his drawer, putting them onto his feet.
He picked up his phone from the nightstand and looked at it, "Eleven fifty-six? I can still make it." he stood up, shoving his phone into his pocket. He jogged downstairs, walking into the kitchen, grabbing his wallet and keys from off of the counter. He walks to the door, slipping his shoes on. He opens his door, shutting it behind him, locking it.
"Fuck, I forgot my glasses." he sighs, reaching for the doorknob. He hesitates before just walking over to his car, "My glasses can wait, however this interview can't." he mumbles.
He unlocks his car, getting in. He shuts the door and turns over the engine, backing out of his driveway, getting onto his road. He knew the way to the bar by heart, he used to go there every Friday night up until a few months ago, money was tight and he didn't need to be spending the little money he did have on alcohol.
While it was true he had a drinking problem, he would never admit it to anyone. He didn't want to think about the fact that he needs help. He didn't want to accept that he had a problem, even though he knew it in the back of his mind. His mom begged him quite often to go get help but he never listened, he refused he was just like that man, that monster that left him. That fucking piece of shit, I can't believe I ever loved that piece of shit. He's the reason I am the way I am today. He made me-
Gaege was thrown out of his thoughts as he heard a car honk at him. He went right through a red light and sighed, Well great, I should be expecting a ticket in the mail now. He laughed slightly to himself and turned his radio on, turning it up, letting the music flow into his ears, the lyrics filling his brain. He bopped his head to the beat and before he knew it, he was at the bar.
