A/N-can someone, please tell me why I head cannon Morgan as a himbo? Like logically, I know he is an extremely smart man in canon, but my monkey brain is just like h a w t b o i
<Reid's POV>
Morgan and I started dating a few months ago. We'd talked about how it would affect our work, well I did. He mostly nodded and agreed.
"Hey there, pretty boy," He says, kissing the top of my head as he walks past me to his office.
I blush, glaring at him as he walks away. He must have felt me shooting dagger into my back and returns fire with his million-dollar smile.
My blush deepens and I quickly turn back to my files.
"Hey, Spence," Emily says as she comes up to my desk, JJ in tow. "Morgan's been friendly, hasn't he?" Her voice is heavy with implications and I pretend not to notice.
"Yeah, I guess he is," I say, pretending to focus on my files.
"You'd tell me if something is going on with you two, right?" JJ says stirring her coffee.
"Right," I say, hoping for them to drop the subject.
"Okay," she sighs as she walks away.
The first half of the day flies by, with no pending cases and filing paperwork.
"Wanna go get lunch?" Derek says, sneaking up behind me. I jump a bit at the sudden noise. He laughed a bit as I smoothed my shirt
"You know, even though it is rare, sudden noises like that can cause copious amounts of adrenaline to run through your body, which causes your heart beating to increase, which may result in a heart attack or death," I ramble, a little bit annoyed because he did scare me a little.
"Don't worry about it kid, your young, " He says, ruining my neat pile of papers as he sits on the edge of my desk. "And it'd you weren't so tightly wound, you'd be fine."
I huff and turn back to my computer. "Let me just finish this up I say, hovering my hands over the keyboard.
"You know, you have such nice hands," Derek says as he takes one of my hands and strokes the knuckles. I just stare at my hand, my mind going completely blank.
"Er-um, thank you?" I say with an uptick at the end. I just need to do my work, but Derek here might be a little distracting. I slip my hand out of his and start to type out my write-up.
Derek hovered by my desk. He idly looked through my files and fiddled with my pencils.
"Okay, where do you what to go?" I say, looking up at me from the file he was flipping through.
"Well, there is this nice cafe down the street. They make a real sugary coffee." Morgan jokes.
I roll my eyes. I would never live that down. "Yeah, I could go for a coffee," I say, getting up and putting on my jacket.
He slides a hand around my waist, totally ignoring the number of people in the office.
"Derek, what are you doing?" I say in a hushed whisper as I move his hand to my shoulders.
He gives me a confused look but just continued walking toward the thankfully empty elevator.
"Derek, don't you realize we could both lose our jobs if you keep doing stuff like that?" I said in a frustrated sigh as the elevator doors shut, granting us some privacy.
"Babe I don't know what's wrong with showing a little friendly affection now and then," he looked at me from across the elevator, can casually leaning against the bar like our careers couldn't go on thin ice when he shows "a little affection now and then"
"Well, we could both get fired" I huffed and turned my head, opting to look at my reflections' shoes instead of Morgan's intense stare.
"Are you sure it's just that?" He asked after a few seconds later, his profiling skills shining through. I can see why he would be nominated for unit chief.
"Yes, of course, what else would it be about?" I stared at the floor intensely, knowing he was on to me.
"Reid, look at me and say that to my face," Morgan said, walking over to me and getting close to me, towering over me as I slouched against the elevator bar.
I heard the elevator door ding and immediately backed up. I pushed past him and walked out to the car. I could feel his eyes on me as I walked into the bright sunlight.
I found our car, unlocked it, and slipped into the driver's side seat. I rubbed my face as he opened the passenger door and sat next to me.
"Reid, please just tell me why you're so uncomfortable with me showing affection towards you?" He turned his body in the seat.
"I'm just- I don't know okay! I just don't want to-I just don't want people to judge us? Or you? Because maybe you'll leave me because you don't want to ruin your image or I don't know and-" I ranted, being cut off by a kiss.
Derek pulled away slightly, looking deep into my eyes. A tear slipped out of my eyes, Morgan gently wiping it away and cupping my cheek.
"I would never leave you for something as stupid as my image." He said seriously, scanning my eyes. I started crying, laying my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me and I mimicked him, holding on to him for dear life as sobs racked my body.
"Babe, I'll respect your decision but I need you to know that I won't leave you. I'm here for the long run hun." He said quietly.
That made another wave of tears wash over my body. I held onto him until tears stopped flooding my eyes. I detached myself from him and looked into his eyes.
"Derek Morgan, I love you so much," I said with a small quiver in my lip, wrapping my hand tightly in his.
"Spencer Reid, I love you more than words can tell." He responded, hugging me again.
A/N: here gremlins, take some content. The ending is kinda crap, but it's 10 where I so suck it loves.
