*Niall's POV*

I awoke to some moaning, I was still in the hospital.

I look up and find my mom, she looked like she was in pain.

"Mum! What's wrong?" I asked, standing up and holding her hand tightly.

I look to her heart monitor, it was sounding different.

"Mum, whats going on? I'll go get the nurse!" I told her, she held my hand tighter not letting go and shook her head.

"No, don't go." She let out in a raspy voice.

"But mum, I ha-" I got cut off by her monitor. I look at it and the line goes flat.

"Mum!?" I exclaim. Her grip started getting looser. "Oh No! Help! Help! Wake up! Please wake up!" I yell, my legs couldn't move, I still held onto her hand.

Two nurses came flying in and paused as they saw the heart monitor.

"Help," I say quietly, tears started flowing down my cheeks, I got on my knees and I rested my head on her bed. "This can't be happening, I didn't even tell her goodbye!" My voice got higher.

One of the nurses kneeled down next to me and made circles on my back with her hand, "I know, I know," She soothed me.

I heard the other nurse talking on the phone with my brother, I heard him crying over the phone.

I had just lost my mother and I couldn't believe it.

*Stephanie's POV*

I heard my phone going off, I look at my clock and notice it's just 4 in the morning. "Ugh." I grab my phone and noticed it was my mother.

"Hello?" I asked, my voice sounding sleepier than ever.

My mom started bawling.

"What's wrong!?" I ask, sitting up against my head board.

"Maura, she-she-" Her voice cracked as she couldn't finish the sentence.

"Steph, it's your father," I heard my dad say.

"What's wrong with mum?" I asked him.

I heard his voice shake, "It's Niall's mom, Maura." He took a deep breath, "She just passed away at the hospital."

My heart dropped.

"No, You're lying. That's not funny dad!" I exclaimed, tears fell down my face.

"He's not kidding Steph! Niall's father just called!" I heard my mom say.

I start crying, "I'm going over there!" I close the phone on them, I grab one of my suitcases and start filling up clothes as quick as I can.

My tears kept going and going, I changed into some sweats and a shirt as I called a taxi to take me to the airport.

I quickly brushed my teeth then grabbed my purse and my jacket and headed out the door.

I sat on my steps and start crying uncontrollably, what a wake up call.
