Ella carried a box of Sarah's homemade chocolate chip cookies, and a small can of pringles and a big packet goldfish crackers. (the pringles were for Sarah)
Sarah was holding her Ella's and her backpack and two small cartons of chocolate milk.
"This is very chocolate-y!" Sarah said.
Ella laughed, "Yeah! We've got chocolate chip cookies, and chocolate milk!"
Sarah shut the backyard door and they went into the forest. In case if you didn't know, Sarah's yard was...well...a forest! It was behind one of the biggest forests in the town.
They found a few large rocks enough for a space to sit and it was below a tall, lush tree. It gave shade.
Ella and Sarah put the snacks on the rock and opened their math textbooks and notebooks.
"Argh. I hope I can pass, I'm really bad at decimals and fractions!" Sarah groaned.
Ella shook her head, "It's easy! Here, I'll teach you," she said while putting their materials on another rock.
Sarah sat on the soft, green grass. A few small mushrooms grew there, and so did a couple of smaller rocks and flowers.
"Here. So let's say...you're doing this," Ella said while writing on the notebook with a pencil.
𝟏 ÷ 𝟐 = 𝟎.𝟓
Ella showed her work below.
"See? Make sense?" she said as she pointed at the problem.
Sarah nodded while stuffing a mouthful of goldfish crackers into her mouth, and tried to say 'I get it' but ended up saying something like this: "I 'et et!"
After an afternoon of studying, Ella decided that she'd have to stay at Sarah's house since her dad had a business trip and her mom worked a night shift at her company everyday.
It was getting late, and the sun was setting. They were sitting on the back porch in Sarah's yard.
"Wow! Look at that sunset!" Sarah said as she gazed at the sky.
Ella smiled as she was watching a YouTube video, "I never get to see one of those before at my house, I usually get to see the sun rising!"
They decided to get dinner, so they entered the house.
The kitchen was squishy but it had most of the things. There was an almost broken blender (which usually spilled when blending anything), and the toaster sent the toast to the sky and then on the floor usually.
Sarah found the TV meal in the fridge.
"Oh come on! There's only one. I guess we'd better run to the store to get cup noodles, we barely have any leftovers and I don't know how to cook..." Sarah mumbled.
"It's fine! What do you guys have?" Ella said while getting up from the living room couch.
Ella walked over and peered in the fridge, "Fish...potatoes...tomatoes...-"
"Toma-TOES!" Sarah said, laughing
Ella chuckled, "You always say that,"
"I know! Hey, what can you make anyways?"
Ella gasped, "I know! We can make a salad. Forget about the TV dinner, I'll wash the lettuce and you cut the tomatoes."
"Toma-"
"TOES!"
