You awoke in a small dimly lit room. The smell of antiseptic filled the air. Slowly awakening your body, you tried to get up but then heard the clink of hand cuffs. You noticed your arm was neatly bandaged and your smaller cuts were clean. An IV was also placed into your arm and taped.

Whoever these people were they wanted you alive...

Just then you hear the click of a lock on your door. A man in a suit and tie comes in.

"I see your finally awake." He said coldly.

     You said nothing.

"Y/n l/n, I have a few questions to ask." He said

"How do you know my name?" You asked shakily.

"Well Y/n, in recent reports it says here that you have been missing for almost two years. Presumed dead actually. I need you to tell me what you know." He said.

"Despite what you might think, we aren't here to hurt you. I'm agent Everett Ross." He said kindly.

"Where's Bucky." You asked firmly.

"I can't tell you that right now, how do you know James Barnes?" Ross asked.

"How can I know to trust you?" You asked.

"Do you want to see your family again?" He asked.

Agent Ross grabbed a small key from his pocket, he then proceeded to unlock your handcuffs. You first instinct was to get up and punch your way out. But you knew this was out of your league right now. You gently put your hands onto your lap and gave Ross a nod of the head.

"I met him from my time at HYDRA." You said.

"I need you to be more specific... How long has he had you hostage for?"

"HOSTAGE?! He's not holding me hostage! Why would you think that?" You said.

"It just seems suspicious to me that a young girl like yourself would willingly end up in this situation." He said.

"Looks can be deceiving." You muttered.

Ross then gestured for you to continue on with your story. You didn't really trust him. You weren't really sure what was the right thing to say and what wasn't. The best thing to do was to be vague.

"Two years ago I was kidnapped by HYDRA. That's where I met him. We both escaped together after D.C., but he's not responsible for the bombing! He was with me!" You pleaded.

"It's lying that's going to keep you locked up!" He yelled.

"I'm not lying!" You shouted.

Agent Ross grabbed the wrist of your injured arm and proceeded to cuff you once again.

"When I come back you better tell me the whole truth!" He said firmly.

That's what I get for telling the truth, you thought.

Time passes and you start to reflect on the days events. You thought you had come into your own with this new lifestyle, but you could barely keep up in Bucharest. The agent's words lingered in your head.

What's a girl like you doing in all of this?

It's almost insulting that he would think that. But maybe he had a point. What's a girl like me doing in all of this ?

Maybe if you hadn't been so slow Bucky wouldn't be in trouble right now....

You had come to the conclusion that it was partly your fault you both got caught. No one else's. Maybe you were just a big burden on Bucky. Hell you passed out from getting just a small scratch on your arm!
