Dear Mom and Dad,

You probably by now have assumed the worst. It's been a long time since I first went missing.

    But I'm actually alive?!

You sighed to yourself and quickly crumbled up the piece of paper.

"This is ridiculous." You muttered to yourself.

You wanted to write to them and explain everything that has happened. But you simply can't. It would not only compromise their safety, but Bucky's as well. You wished there was a better way to reach out to them.

It was a long haul but you and Bucky had finally made your way to Bucharest. Between hiding in alleyways and camping in the countryside of Europe, you made it. After the events of D.C. you and Bucky finally had a place to lay low. You knew people were looking for him. Hell, Captain America has been looking for him.

You tried to reason with him about Steve Rodgers. Bucky decided to save him back in D.C. because he knew him. The news has stated his identity as James Buchanan Barnes. It was now clear who he was. But Bucky was stubborn and afraid.

"Bucky maybe he can help you." You said.

"Y/n we've talked about this, I don't know if I can trust him." He said.

"Are you sure?" You asked.

"I'm just not ready, I need more time to think." He said.

Luckily your powers really came in handy for hiding in plain sight. You have had to steal everything just to get by. Bucky was able to find a small apartment for you both to call home. The place itself was tiny and run down. There was a small kitchen and bathroom. It was Bucky's idea to have the windows covered with newspaper. A mattress big enough to fit you both was placed in the corner of the room.

Living with a fugitive was dangerous and you always had to be extra cautious. No one knew your face, but they sure as hell knew Bucky's. You both had to be ready to pick up and leave at the drop of a hat. Just in case, Bucky had an emergency backpack hidden under the floor boards just for the occasion.

You both didn't have much, but you only stole what was absolutely necessary. You had actually become quite the little thief.

Although you knew stealing was wrong, it's what you had to do. You made a rule to yourself to try and never steal from smaller businesses, only from big corporations. You were always careful and quick. Alarms? That was no problem! You would always wait to walk behind someone else so that it seemed like they set off the alarm and you would just walk on by. It's not like anyone could see you anyways!

In the past couple months of moving in, Bucky was still having a hard time adjusting to a life out of Hydra. His mind was slowly getting better and he started to remember more things about his past before Hydra. You had suggested for him to write down his memories in a journal and try to piece things together.

You would often find him at random hours of the day scribbling things down in his journal. He would have that same cute expression of him trying to focus as he was writing. It was a really good way for him to have an outlet for his emotions.

After everything that happened, you both just wanted to be with each other. Bucky has become extremely protective over you in the past couple of months. To him, sometimes you were still the frightened girl in the Hydra cell. But that's not the case anymore, you have come a long way since then.

You still had your moments where you felt vulnerable. Sometimes you would break down when you remembered all the horrible things that happened. You missed your family, they were still out there probably thinking that you were dead. But at least you knew they were safe. Bucky was always there at your side ready to comfort you. It was clear that you both have been through a lot in the recent past, but you were glad to have him by your side.
