Finally, December is here, a month for laughs and cheer. As the snow falls and melts into ice the details of this chapter aren't so nice but, as a narrator, I am I'll drop some riddles and facts to see, but keep up and let's get on with the story, my dear just read."Come on Brielle, you've been all doom and gloom all week," Aliah says as she tries to yank Brielle's covers. "Don't you wanna write some new poems, you know your amazing ideas help pay this rent right?". Brielle growled at Aliah's attempt to uplift her. "But doesn't that face pay it too, Aliah Moore plastered on magazines and New York City's finest billboards,", "Brielle come on, I mean it's obvious you're butthurt about that little dream of yours but like J.I, Keyshia Cole, and A Boogie they make great music because of the pain and that they went through,". Aliah looks at Brielle knowing her friend was still in there banging at the eyes. "In your case, you mix cool words,". Aliah then got up and left thinking it was best to leave her friend alone to find herself. Jevaughn had been worried about Brielle but had also felt like she needed to be alone. After hours alone, Brielle had finally sat up straight and built the courage to stand, she walked over to her desk, and as she sat she pulled out her notebook to open a fresh page and retrieve her favorite pen, the blue bold ballpoint pen. She knew the things that had been on her mind had the potential to release her emotions, help others, and yes, pay her rent. It had also been a while since Brielle had even thought about her poetry so it had been nostalgic almost, but on paper, she wrote:
Aerohearts:
Nothing heals the past like time, we're all perfect in someone's eyes but I in mine. Loving you is my greatest sin but even with his eyes close he still saw from knowing me within. The secrets in my mind came and showed we live on borrowed time so like a vampire frozen in place I will not age nor grow for I have been stuck with a great cost and if don't know what I'm missing how can I find what's been lost? The poem she wrote brought her comfort and warmth in this time of confusion and gloom. Later that day as dinner came along, Aliah had partially come up with an idea to do Christmas shopping as a way to let loose and enjoy time for a bit and a bit it was. "Brielle foods ready," Aliah yells. Brielle comes out of her room and sits at the table with a better face. "Someone looks alive," Aliah said with joy. "Yep, I have arisen from the dead once again". Brielle said sarcastically while sipping from the drink Aliah placed in front of her. Aliah quickly set their food down and sat to begin discussing her idea. "Soooooo, we both know that Christmas is coming up,", "Ok?" Brielle said suspiciously. "And I just feel like we should do some Christmas shopping,". Brielle looked at Aliah with a face that had "no" written all over it. "Aliah, no. I'm sorry but not this year,", "What? Why not?"," Because one my feet finna hurt after like 3 stores,", "Then wear something comfortable,", "They still finna hurt and two Christmas is in like 3 weeks and on that note no,", "Well you've been in a mood and we haven't bonded in weeks, this could be a chance to like have fun and be festive,". Brielle still didn't look bought on the idea so Aliah used a different tactic. "How about each week we split it,", "What do you mean?", "Ok so like every week will be for something different. So this week will be for decorations, next week will be for family gifts, and the last week will be for us,". Brielle thought about it for a minute. "Fine," Brielle said rolling her eyes with a smirk. "Finally ok so we going to a different mall each week,", "So which one are we going to first?". Aliah looked at Brielle with a confusing look because she had asked the stupidest question, they both knew the mall that had to come first and with a quick reminder from Aliah's look Brielle says, "Oh Nah, Manhattan Mall."
After the girls ate, Brielle went to her room to take a shower and relax. Aliah had seen a text from Jevaughn asking if Brielle had agreed to go to the malls, she replied "Yea". As Brielle laid in her bed to fall asleep, she flipped through her social media, and right as she shut her eyes a message popped up and it was from Jevaughn. "Yeo" it read, Brielle was tired but it was like a shot of life when he came around or even popped up. "Yeo" she texted back, and as soon "read" popped up at the bottom of her message a facetime call came through. Although hesitant to pick up because of him being distant she bravely answered. They both greeted each other while Brielle turned and propped her phone up on the pillow next to her. "So what have you been up to?" Jevaughn said, "Nothing much, how about you?" Brielle replied, "I've just been going to school ya know", "Yea", "I wish I could do online like you seems easier", "Nah it like, it takes away from the social aspect of school but, you and I have different lives ya know", "Yea, I mean I guess you're an author", "And you're a boy who's figuring out life", Jevaughn stood quiet as he felt low. "Did you know that 'ps' means 'postscript'?". Jevaughn laughed a little at how strange and random that fact was. "What are you talking about?" Jevaughn asked. "Ok so like, you know how at the end of a letter if you have more to say you write 'ps'?", "Mhm?", "Well it means 'post scriptum' in Latin and that translates to more to the point or something like that, ", "Oh well, I know something even cooler,", Brielle could hear his smile as he did hers. "Oh really? And what is that may I ask?". And with a competitive nature set between the two flames, a night of gaming and laughter followed while love fell and set like snow. Closer to 3, Jevaughn could tell Brielle was getting tired but was fighting it just to talk with him so, he did what any kid in love would do. "Hey uh, before you go to sleep I wanted to tell you something,". After Jevaughn said "sleep", Brielle's mind just suddenly let go and she began to fall asleep but, with was she could think of she murmured, "Yea?", "I wanna make this Christmas a good one, ya know?", "Yep I know,", "And so I heard that about the malls you and Aliah are going too,". Jevaughn waited for a response but, silence remained, "And if you get things just know it's a sign from me and it all leads to something special,". Jevaughn then hung up while Brielle remained in a deep sleep. He put her first.
