Miyoko's POV
Suna is so.....~ AHH!
I can't really get him to talk to me.
And following Miko-neesan's advice isn't working. She obviously doesn't know what my type is. Well, I don't even know either but whatever Suna is, I like him a lot. I would complement him on his attacks and nothing. I would even ask if he wanted to walk with me to the gym but he politely declines and goes with Atsumu-san. And it's so frustrating that he doesn't see it! Even if it looks embarrassing, I'm still persistent. But it has a limit.
I saw Mika earlier with Osamu, I'm jealous! As heck.
Ugh!
I moved so loudly on my mattress, that Suzume who's next to me told me to keep it down and sleep. And she's the only one out of us 1st years who doesn't play around.
"Sorry." I whispered before staring at the ceiling.
Kimika's POV
I wish Miko comes back already. I don't want to deal with Miyoko's attitude. We played alright together. We both did our jobs which is great because if Father saw us having drama on the court, he will be very disappointed and angry. Really mad which all 3 of us would never want to make him upset on purpose when we play.
It's been 2 days and Miko's coming back on the last day which is in 3 days. I hope she comes back on before the training camp is over. I started to notice each team's skills, strengths, and weaknesses which I gained from watching volleyball games. Shiratorizawa's 2nd string ace hitter isn't all that bad. But her mindset is pounding each set that she gets. It sometimes takes a toll on Natsumi. And now, the other Libero, Aratani. She seems to be aggressive only when she challenges Shiratorizawa. I notice the sick girl I've met, she wasn't there. So, now I'm thinking about the setter that Miyoko was telling me about in Middle School. Oh, maybe she's sick.
The Fukurodani and Nekoma counter each other out. Our real threat is Shiratorizawa and Itachiyama.
"Left!!" Rika and I called out together as we both lined up in defense.
"Miyuki!!"
I stayed put on the line and when her arm came into view, I was in the right place. The impact was heavy as I rolled back after Miyuki continuously hit the line and targeted Miyoko. I decided to make her switch with me. To save herself and to save our team because we're down 3 points. And Miyuki scored thrice in a row already.
"Up!!" I grunted as I absorbed that spike. My feet are planted and I didn't feel no pain in my knees—thank God.
"Center! Center!"
"Miyoko!"
"Here!!"
My teammates called out at once so they could put the ball away as our bench cheered for my dig. Now who will put it away??
Miyoko had no time to stare as she sets up Hanami for a back row attack. Earning a kill off of their 2nd string Libero. I curled my fingers into tight fists as I smiled at my teammates. Miyoko had a sugh of relief with sweat plastered on her forehead. As the only 1st year on the court, I can feel the pressure that's surrounding her. That play in our defense...we can only do it once in a while. Because better teams will catch on and our blocks or me won't be enough to protect our setter.
"Nice set." I said, digging my emerald gaze into hers as she froze. She then nods and seem to calm herself down. I know, that those words are a reset button for her. And I'm glad that both of our minds are on the game and not drama. We leave that outside the gym.
