Midoriya's POV
"You should just probably give up."
The doctor once told me at the clinic when mom and I went for a check-up. He said that I cannot have a quirk (powers) and I should just give up on my dream of being a hero like All Might. Why would someone tell that to a five-year old kid? I don't know.
Ever since that day, even at school, everyone treated me differently. They feel disgusted at me. My childhood friend, Kacchan, bullied me more. Why wouldn't he? He got an amazing quirk. He can make explosions at his hands, isn't that great?
I probably felt miserable.
I have a room full of posters and figurines of the famous hero, All Might. I admired him. He always saves people with a smile on his face. I remembered watching his amazing video where he saved so many lives, it was epic.
I asked my mom, probably asking for hope.
"He always save everyone with a smile. Mom, can I be like that too?"
I broke into tears. And soon enough, mom did too. She ran towards me and hugged me tight, saying,
"I'm sorry, Izuku! I'm sorry!"
But that's not what I wanted to hear.
But still, I never gave up. Even though in a world of superheroes, people like me can still do something. I might not have a quirk, but I have my brain and my undying passion for saving people!
I came up on an idea of researching local heroes I often see everyday. I'm now 14 years old and this is my 13nth notebook where I write my notes about heroes.
But then Kacchan went to me and threw my notebook to the classroom window and fell in the aquarium.
