Chapter 14: Briefing

Midoriya's POV

(The next morning)

I woke up at 6 am, with the white ceiling towering above my head. A couple of minutes later, the policeman yesterday entered the room and greeted me. He brought a couple of baggages and bags and placed it at the corner of the room. He said,

"Good morning, Izuku. I'm sure you are made aware yesterday that you will be attending Mr. Aizawa's class at UA academy starting today. I haven't introduced myself yet right? My name is Tsukauchi Naomasa, a police detective in the Police Force."

Police huh.

"We have your educational and hygiene materials ready inside this bag, We also prepared some spare clothes for you and 4 pairs of UA uniform. There is an introductory leaflet provided for the youths who will participate in the rehabilitation program attached to the bag with the school materials."

Detective Naomasa then briefed me on the contents of the bags he brought for me and moved onto the next topic. Perhaps feeling a bit sleepy, I really didn't pay much attention to what he is saying.

"We have to apologize but the collar that is placed on your neck cannot be removed until we are sure that you won't jeopardize the safety of other students your age. We also asked Professor Shota Aizawa to pick you up every end of classes and let you stay with him, to which he complied."

The words he said piqued my interest and made me listen attentively. Too bad I wouldn't be able to remove this freaking collar but what can I do? There's also the fact of staying at a pro hero's house.

"We hope for you to have a wonderful time at attending the academy. I hope someday we can be comrades fighting for the same purpose. If you'll excuse me, I will come back after an hour to pick you up and drive you to UA."

"Huaamm... Alright."

I yawned and answered back. The detective then left and I started getting ready. I asked to be let out to take a bath since there's only a single toilet bowl here and a very small sink. I was led to a shower room and pleaded for the guards to stay outside, I don't like being watched while taking a shower.

I placed my clothes on a nearby table and brought my towel and the hygiene kit with me. While showering, a part of me thought that this was a good chance to sneak and escape, using whatever means to get out of the situation. While there's the other part where I remembered dreaming of going to UA when I was a kid because that's where All Might studied before being a pro hero.

I was always bullied at school for being downright quirkless, and that I could never attend a famous hero academia let alone being a hero. Still, I was adamant of achieving something that should've been very impossible to me and studied hard for it. In the end, I lost the only person who truly cares for me in pursuit of my own selfish desires.

I became a very sly person that I hated most, then with some sort of crappy fate led me to the place I stopped believing I would come to. But I am not the person I was, yet there's the me hoping I could return to dreaming again.

"Haha... What a crappy fate."
