Evalyn Javernick

"What is your name love?" My mate asked me softly. My heart fluttered at the word love. I looked into his grey eyes deeply, his grey bright yet dull. My mate can try to mask his feelings but not from me. His eyes are so beautiful. It looked just like the moon, shining brightly hoping for a better future and showing a lost one its rightful path. Frustration and curiosity were clearly visible in his eyes. I ignored my greedy wolf who wanted to mate with him. When I didn't reply he asked me again. I refused to respond. If he want any answers from me. He will learn to play by my rules.

"Fucking answer sweetheart otherwise I will spank the answer from you" He threatened me; a dark undertone masking his tone. His threat made me wet. Fuck this stupid mate bond.

Oh please Aur. Even without the mate bond, you would totally have hots for him/. I mean he is a freaking sex god. An Adonis and he is all ours. My wolf scoffed at me as I ignored her comments. I kept being quiet. Not sparing a single glance at him. Furious he stalked towards me. Oh lord, why does this keep happening to me? Before he could touch me. The dark-haired one stated.

"Alpha, she is playing a very dangerous game." He said, cocking his head and assessing me." She wants something from us. Anything she can use against us." Rowan looked at him a frown marring  his face. His eyes glazed over, indicating the use of the pack link. I gave him an appreciative glance. I was impressed, he really was very observant.

"What do you want?" Rowan finally asked, glaring at me.

"I want the other wolf you captured to be in this room along with me," I demanded him.

"No. Why? Is he your mate?" He asked me in a dangerous tone.

"No, he is not my mate. And if he was, How does that affect you? Alpha" I was shocked that he asked me that but I was curious. Did he feel the mate bond? I know that he will realize I am his mate only after I shift into my wolf form. But by any chance does he know I am his mate.?

"I will not answer your questions if I don't get what I asked for," I told him sassily.

"Don't use that tone with me. If I bring him here, you are not allowed to touch him. If you touch him, I will kill him within the next second. Am I clear?"Did he just tell me he will kill Ethan? I don't care if he is my mate or not. He doesn't get to threaten Ethan. How dare he?

"What? I will kill you if you even think about hurting him and I meant it. Don't underestimate me Alpha just because I am a female. How fucking dare you say that?" I shouted at him. He looked surprised by my outburst and threat.

"I can kill you for disrespecting me you know. And you disrespected me because I pose a threat to that boy? What type of relationship do you have with him?" He asked me in an indifferent tone. But there was a hint of dominance, anger, and jealousy in his eyes.

"That doesn't matter, You will kill me if I hurt your Beta, Right?"

"Yes, I will." He answered surprised by my question.

I was a little hurt that he was willing to kill his mate for his beta.

But he doesn't know we are his mate, my wolf whined I shut her out. But at the same time, I was impressed by his loyalty and dedication.

"Exactly, now you get what I am trying to tell you."

"I won't answer any questions about me or him if he is not here."He hesitated for a moment and then barked at Bryan.

"Bryan bring that rogue here."

They think we are rogues! How wrong they are. Bryan entered a few minutes later with an enraged Ethan. As soon as he saw me we rushed towards each other meeting in the middle. I jumped into his arms hugging him tightly. I inhaled him, there was no smell of his blood on him and he didn't seem to be in any type of pain. He smelled like his usual self like forest and woods. I felt his nails digging into my waist. Him muttering my name again and again in the form of a prayer.

"You're okay. Thank Diana you are okay." He said releasing me. I giggled.

"Well, I am glad that you're okay too," I told him happily. With him here, I believed everything would be okay. My mate growled angrily breaking my happy bubble. Jealousy evident in his eyes.

"I made a deal with them. I will answer their questions if you're here with me." I filled him in. Afraid he might shout at me and scold me for doing something stupid. But he didn't.

"What do you want to know?" Ethan asked them, turning serious, assessing the three males presented in the room.

"Let's start with the basics." The dark-haired one said in a monotone voice.

"What is your name?" Rowan asked me in an indifferent tone. His jealousy and anger were absent. I was glad. Nothing ever comes good from an angry Alpha.

"Evalyn Javernick."

"Ethan Fell," Ethan answered.

"How come you don't have a wolf scent?" Rowan asked me.

"A witch helped us in hiding it," I told him. Half-truth, half lie. Rowan looked at the dark-haired one. A silent conversation happening between them.

"No wonder we failed to catch you all these times," Bryan said like it was the most obvious thing.

"You mean you couldn't catch us because you were slow as a tortoise." Ethan scoffed.

"Watch your tone rogue. Don't make me kill you and I will make sure it is really painful." Bryan said angrily.

"Really third in command. I think I can take you down with the aconitum still in my body." What exactly is he trying to achieve here? Trying to anger the Gamma is not a good idea. We might never leave.

Bryan appeared in front of Ethan. His eyes turned red with anger. I took a fighting stance beside Ethan who looked calm. I growled at Bryan.

"Touch him and I will kill you," I said my voice full of authority.

"Bryan, back down and leave for now."

Rowan said using his Alpha tone. Leaving no room for argument hell it didn't even leave room for discussion. Bryan, unable to defy his Alpha's order, followed it like the good pup he is. Leaving the room, shutting the door behind him hard enough to break it.

"Gavin, lock the door." He told the dark-haired one. Ah, so his name is Gavin. Nice.

"Now let's get back to the questions." He said dragging a chair for Ethan and one for himself. He sat in the chair facing us, looking magnificent. My wolf was drooling over him. I growled at her, stop drooling at him. But he is our mate, she whined, sounding like a child. Right now he is our enemy and I am pretty sure he doesn't know that we are his mate I told her. What makes you say that? She asked me cockily. Stop being annoying I told her and shut her out.

"Which pack did you belong to before you became rogues?" The question which I hate to answer. The question which I wish was never asked. The question for which everyone wanted the answer, finally had been asked.

Memories surfaced, blood and body everywhere. Wolves fighting, trying to protect themselves and the others. I remember, fingers wrapped around my wrist pulling me away from the war. I remembered looking into a pair of blue eyes on the battlefield, full of fright, anger, and worry. The last thing I remembered of that night is running away from the war with Ethan.

"I don't remember," I said nonchalantly.

"How come you don't remember which pack you were part of?" Rowan asked.

"I don't remember because I was only seven years old. When we ran away."
