"Thanks for the sandwiches Brooke!"

The sound of gulping and chewing of PB & J sandwiches (with the exception of Cory, who was allergic to peanut butter, so he had a cheese sandwich instead) was interrupted by Ember's high-pitched thanks. Samuel and Tyler smiled, but everyone carried on eating.

I couldn't take my eyes off the boy. He wore black overalls and a brown t-shirt underneath. His brown, knee-high buckled boots and the velvety black Stetson hat completed the cowboy look. His long, pale brown hair was tied up in a man bun, and I thought that complimented his rugged face perfectly. Of all the boys I had every met, Tyler was the manliest and most handsome one. Every time I looked at him, my face flushed a bright pink that could complete with Isac's hair colour, and my mind went instantly into a wonderland of romantic dates, small closets, and...

"Peter, stop daydreaming. We have work to do soon," Isac grunted. In an undertone he added, "Don't get too attatched. We don't need anyone else committing suicide."

I turned to the boy. His pink shirt matched his short messy hair, and complimented his black jacket and trousers well. His matching shiny, black shoes were covered in pink accessories - pink laces, even some bubblegum-pink cupcake sprinkles were glued on to the trainers. "I- Isac..." I stuttered. "Do you... Do you miss her?"

"Yes. I do."

"Then why... Why doesn't it show on your face?"

Isac sighed. "I've learned not to show pain. That's what these murderers want-"

"But it was your dream to marry her, wasn't it-?"

"Of course it was! It would have succeeded if she didn't get so close to Angie! A fucking love triangle, that's all it was! Angie Lime, in love with me, her last thoughts were of Isac Pink. But I was in love with Fiona, wasn't I? If she didn't get close with Angie, she wouldn't have fucking shot herself in the head!!"

Tears were pouring out of his eyes. He must have wanted to let his emotions out for a while. Everyone in the room turned to look at us, and I felt my face get hot. How embarrassing...

"Sorry Peter, I didn't mean to shout at you. It's just-"

"I understand. I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have said anything."

Isac looked down at me and smiled. He walked out of the room, claiming to do his Medbay scan, and Ember followed him. I was about to open my backpack when Ava came out of nowhere and-

"YOU SON OF A BITCH!" She screamed, tackling me to the floor. I looked up at her in surprise and she punched me right in the nose, a loud crack echoing around the room. "THE FUCK DID YOU DO THAT FOR, HUH? THOUGHT IT'D BE FUNNY, DID YOU, MAKING MY BROTHER CRY LIKE THAT!?"

"A- Ava! That's not what-"

"SHUT THE FUCK UP WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU, YOU LITTLE SHIT!" She continued screeching. It's not like I could say much - her hand was clutched tightly around my throat.

"Ava, you're killing him!" Ember cried. She had obviously heard the shouting and ran back into the cafeteria, where we were all gathered. Everyone sat speechless at their tables, sandwiches hovering in their hands.

"I don't care! Let him die, he fucking deserves it- IF YOU TRY MOVING ONE MORE TIME, PETER, I SWARE TO FUCKING GOD I WILL FUCKING SHOVE MY FIST IN YOUR DIRTY-ASS MOUTH!"

I tried to pull her hands away from my throat in desperation. Is this how I'd die? No. Ava isn't like that - she wouldn't kill anybody. Right?

"AVA! LET GO OF HIM RIGHT NOW!" Ember squeaked, trying to match the loudness of Ava's voice, but just sounding like a terrified mouse instead. She ran towards us and pushed Ava off of me with her shoulder. I let out a long gasp and rubbed my throat. It was sore. I looked to my left and four people were restraining the purple-haired menace: Ember, Tyler, Samuel and Cory. I tried not to blush at the sight of Tyler - his bulging muscles ripped his shirt a little, and his face was drenched in sweat.
