Sam was sat alone when going for her Quantum-Macro Physics class. She took her stuff out and waited for the lecturer to arrive.
Someone suddenly laid a backpack on the seat beside her, making her look up to see a familiar girl smiling back at her.
"Hi, do you mind if I sit here?" Diana asked politely. "You're the only one I know here..."
"Sure, not all," Sam said, moving her stuff a little. "I'm Sam, by the way."
"I'm Diana," Diana said. "Seems like you already know my stepbrother, Martin."
"How could we not know him," Sam chuckled. "He's a real nightmare, but still helpful sometimes..."
"Couldn't agree more," Diana said with a grin.
The teacher walked in and started lecturing.
"What class do you have after this?" Sam whispered to Diana.
"Dead Languages 101," Diana said. "Heard they taught us all about them."
"Hey, I go to that class too!" Sam said excitedly. "Hey, if you're free at third period, wanna hit the books at the library? Clover and Alex aren't free since Alex takes art at the time while Clover takes Surfology 101. That's a very long class. How would you like to come?"
"You bet!" Diana grinned. "Was planning to do that anyway. Martin has Celestial 101..."
"Sounds like Martin..." Sam chuckled. "Anyway, Mr. Pico is saying something now..."
They paid attention to what their lecturer was saying and even answered some of the questions. They were kinda dismayed to find that some of their classmates were fast asleep.Clover went for her surfology class and eyed which boy she should team up with.
"Hot," Clover said, seeing one guy. She panned slightly and saw a slightly tanned blond guy. "Hotter..." and then she saw another one with toned muscles and a chiselled face. He had wavy brown hair with a strand of it falling over the side of his face. Clover's face lit up. "Hottest!"
She walked up to him, drooling.
"Hey there, handsome," Clover greeted. "How 'bout you teach me how to balance on a surfboard?"
"Sure thing, blondie," the man said with a slight smirk. "Got your surfboard?"
Clover nodded and ran off to get it. She returned in a flash, holding it with a wide grin.Mandy walked up to the beach with her floral purple surfboard tucked under her arm. She looked around for the perfect guy to be her next victim.
"Hmm..." she scanned all of the boys on the beach. She became furious when she noticed how Clover was surfing alongside the best looking surfer dude there.
She snarled and she could've set the entire beach on fire if Mindy wasn't there to hold her back.
"What is it, Mandy?" Mindy asked, holding her back.
Mandy was still enraged. She sat on the sand growling.
"Are you okay?" A voice asked, followed by a hand appearing before Mandy's face.
Mandy looked up at the person and gasped.
It was Martin. Mandy thought he looked too geeky for her taste.
"Eww!" Mandy exclaimed, jumping up to her feet. "You can take a big step back!"
"Oh come on, beautiful," Martin said, looking smug. "Who could resist such a pretty face?"
He received a giant slap in reply. Mandy and her cousin stormed off.
"Why does this keep happening to me?!" Mandy whined, walking away.
"Looks like I'm surfing alone, then..." Martin said, looking around the beach only to see that there weren't any girls besides those two. "I'll show them..."
A hand suddenly rested on his shoulder. He turned to see Billy standing next to him in his B.S. 1000.
"That was amazing, Martin!" Billy cheered. "Care to teach me some more?"
"Watch and learn," Martin said, holding up his surfboard.
He swung his surfboard and ran towards the sea. He leapt onto his surfboard and started surfing. He passed Clover and her newly found guy.
"Hey Clover!" Martin greeted while he surfed.
"Your boyfriend?" The boy with Clover asked.
"No no, he's just a friend," Clover quickly said. "I'm still single."
Martin grinned and continued surfing. It was true, he did have a crush on her at the beginning, but all of that left when he saw her as yeti. For some reason, he sorta avoided her after that. The first session of Surfology was over so Martin departed with Billy. Clover stayed behind because she applied for the full course.
Billy went back to the dorm since he was free. Martin took Celestial studies, and Billy kinda felt uncomfortable with it.
Learning astronomy kinda reminded him of his life before The Centre.
So Martin went alone and bagged a seat in the middle.
A cheerful giggle was suddenly heard, followed by Alex suddenly appearing beside Martin.
"Hey Martin!" Alex greeted cheerfully. "I didn't know you liked astronomy!"
"What do you mean?" Martin said. "I love astronomy! It's the closest I can get to aliens!"
"Let me guess..." Alex said with a smirk. "You take Astrobiology too?"
They started cheering since they both took that class too.
"Where's your little friend?" Alex asked. "I thought he tagged along with you wherever you went...?"
"He doesn't like Astronomy," Martin explained. "He's free now. Since I have Astrobiology, he takes Humanitarian Affairs,"
"Whoa, boring much..." Alex said, not in the least liking that subject.
"Tell me about it..." Martin agreed. "But oh well... he wants to be as human as he can."
Alex raised an eyebrow when he said that.
"I mean... he embraces the fact that he's human," Martin quickly added. "You know how some people are..."
Alex simply smiled.
"By the way, do you by any chance know this one girl that has long black hair, purple eyes, and a mole under her eye?" Martin asked. "And she has a blonde version of herself tagging along?"
"I know exactly who you mean," Alex frowned, nodding. "That's Mandy and her annoying cousin, Mindy. We've been tortured by Mandy since high school! Talk about annoying..."
"So I've seen..." Martin said. "I just tried talking to her, but I received a slap in return. Look at this!"
He showed her the red handprint on his face and Alex burst into laughter.
"She has this thing against 'uncool' people," Alex explained. "Don't mind her, she used to think we were uncool too. That was until we sang on the moon during that Alpha Centauri concert..."
Their lecturer walked in and they quickly fell silent. Martin ended up drawing aliens and spaceships on his book while the teacher lectured on at the front. The Spies returned to their penthouse. Martin decided to come over and look at Alex's video games and maybe brag about his on collection.
"You have this?!" Martin exclaimed, holding up a rare, exclusive, limited edition video game. "How?!?!"
"Oh the girls gave it to me for my birthday," Alex simply said. She suddenly squealed when she spotted something. "You have Buttkick Kong Tag Match Frenzy?! How?"
"I have my sources," Martin said with a smirk.
Martin's phone started ringing and he groaned. Alex looked over at his phone and saw the word Buzzkill along with a funny picture of Diana.
"What does she want now..." Martin muttered, answering the phone. "Hello?"
"Hey Martin," Diana greeted. "Have you forgotten? It's movie night with the Mali-U Centre agents! And it's in our dorm! Come on!"
Martin quickly scrambled up to his feet.
"Sorry, gotta go, Al," Martin said, collecting his video game collection. "Catcha later!"
Alex waved at him with a smile while he ran off to his dorm. He looked in and saw that Billy wasn't there.
"Where's Billy?" Martin asked Diana and Java.
"He's out," Diana said. "Said he had something urgent at the Centre."
Martin shrugged and sat down on his armchair. But his U-Watch started beeping.
"So that's what this was all about..." Martin groaned. "The movie hasn't even started!"
"Let's just see what's up," Diana said, getting up. "The sooner we get it over with, the better."
Martin started looking for the portal. Turns out it was inside his wardrobe. Martin opened it and the three of them leapt in.
