Three girls finally met each other after class.
"Phew, what a day!" The girl with long red hair wearing a green crop said. "That physics test was hard! Even by my standards!"
"Well, at least you're still a brainiac!" Her blonde friend said. "Imagine, they asked me to design a new uniform for the janitors!"
"Did you win, though?" The brunette with a short haircut enquired.
"Duh, of course!" The blondie grinned. "You'd think I'd lose to something like that? Just see my beautiful creations worn by all the janitors tomorrow!"
"Hey I need to go to the fifth floor for a moment," said Sam. "My classmate borrowed my notes..."
"You let someone else borrow your notes?!" Clover gasped in shock. "Okay, eww! Why would you do that?!"
"Clover, she's group mate," Sam said. "Come on, I so really need a foamy soy latte..."
They went over to West Coast Hall and went to the fifth floor. Sam found her friend's dorm room and knocked on the door.
"Thank you so much, Sam," Elena smiled, returning Sam's notes. "They were very detailed and colourful. Thank you!"
Sam gave her a smile and waved before walking off with her friends. They went back to the elevator and pressed the up button. The lift was in the ground floor and they had to wait for it.
"So whatever happened to Ben?" Alex asked her blonde friend. "Haven't seen him much recently..."
"Oh could you believe it?!" Clover shouted in rage. "That loser decided it was funny to not only take me to some monster movie, but kept laughing at me when I couldn't understand it. Could you believe it?!"
"You dumped him," Alex said, not in the least surprised. "Should've seen that one coming."
The elevator doors opened and a green-eyed girl with shoulder length brown hair with a flower hairpin securing her fringe came out. She gulped when she caught sight of their fashionista style.
"Wow, major fashion faux pas much!" Clover whispered to Sam in shock.
"Clover..." Sam scolded softly. She turned to the girl who seemed to be moving in, judging by the baggage she was carrying. "Hi, you new here?"
Alex gave her a warm smile and waved.
"I'm Diana Lombard," the girl said with a smile. "I just transferred here with my friends and stepbrother. Uh.. do you know where dorm number 5034 is? My roommate is someone named Elena Wilson."
"Oh her room's right over there," Sam said pointing her sheaf of papers at the room she just visited. "The one with the flower on it."
"Great, thank you," Diana said, thankfully going towards the room.
"Wonder which classes she takes..." Alex wondered. "Oh well, guess we'll have to find out the hard way..."
They entered the lift and pressed the button to go back to their penthouse. But instead of going up, it went down.
"Oh great, brace yourselves, girls!" Sam exclaimed, gripping onto the metal handrail. "We're being WOOHP-ed!"
They all groaned and did what she was doing, tightly shutting their eyes. But to their surprise, the elevator calmly went down like how it normally would.
They arrived at the ground floor for some reason.
"That's weird, I pressed the button for our floor," Alex frowned at the elevator buttons. "Oh well, stuff like this always happens anyway."
The elevator opened and revealed two boys standing.
"Can't believe Diana just abandoned us like that," A blond boy their age complained. Just then, he spotted Alex. "Alex! It's you!"
"Martin?" Alex said, surprised. "Guys look! It's Martin Mystery! What are you doing here? I thought you went to Torrington?"
"Yeah that's a high school, Al," Martin said with a frown. "We're too old for it." He smirked. "Even though we don't look like it..."
"Still the same conceited idiot," Sam sighed, annoyed. "Anyway, why Mali-U?"
"Why not?" Martin said with a smirk. "We had enough of Sherbrooke. It's about time we defrosted ourselves here!"
"That makes sense," Sam shrugged. "Anyway, are you two getting in or not? I can't hold the elevator much longer!"
The two boys entered. Clover was about to close the elevator, but Martin stopped her.
"Wait, my friend Java is bringing our stuff," Martin said. "He'll be here in a flash."
There sound of stomping came as a giant man started running towards the elevator. The girls shrieked.
"Talk about Neanderthal!" Clover said, shocked. "How tall is he?"
"He's humongous!" Sam cried.
"Guys, it's just Java," Martin said, totally unfazed. "He's our friend!"
"Nice meeting you," the big man said in a gruff voice.
"Nice meeting you too, big guy," Alex said, trying to sound cool.
"Why do you look like you crawled out of a history textbook?" Clover said, still creeped out. "He looks like a real Neanderthal!"
"That's because he is a real Neanderthal," Martin's shorter friend said in a squeaky voice. "He's from the Stone Age."
The three girls exchanged surprised looks.
"Um... come again?" Sam said, confused.
"He's a time traveller," Martin explained. "You know how The Centre deals with supernatural occurrences, right?"
"Well, I guess we believe you," Alex said, scratching her head. "Ohhh and Martin! Did you play that new game?"
"Which one?" Martin asked with a smirk. "Deltaspace or Crystalforce?"
"Both!" Alex grinned cheerfully. "Did you play it yet?"
"Not yet..." Martin said, scratching his head. "Budget's a little tight. I'm waiting for the summer sale."
"Oh but I already got it!" Alex said smugly. "But I have started it yet..."
"Oh boy..." Sam groaned, predicting the future.
"Can I come play with you?" Martin begged. "Please pleasepleaseplease please?"
Alex nodded, giggling excitedly. Sam and Clover looked a little annoyed.
The lift opened at Martin's floor and the six of them stepped out to talk in the corridor.
"By the way, who's your little friend?" Alex asked, pointing to the shorter boy with Mohawk-like hair.
"I am Billy," the boy said, holding his hand out for her to shake.
"Nice to meet you, Billy," Alex said, shaking it politely. "I'm Alex, by the way."
"Nice to meet you too, beautiful," Billy said, smirking at her.
All of a sudden, his hand started wobbling. He quickly redrew it, hiding it behind his back with a sheepish grin. Martin realised why and tried to cover for him.
"Also, have you seen this weirdo with brown hair and purple hair clip on her head?" Martin asked, pointing to his head.
"Is her name Diana?" Alex asked.
"Yep, that's the one," Martin nodded. "Have you seen her?"
"He's only moving in now, and he's already seeing a girl," Clover rolled her eyes. "What is up with these geeks anyway?"
"I heard that," Martin turned to her with a frown. "If you think she's my girlfriend, then think again. She's my sister, you idiot!"
Sam and Alex snickered at Clover's dumbstruck face.
"She's your sister?" Clover said in surprise. "Well, that explains her equally geeky outfit. Like, dude. You're literally wearing the same thing since the last time I saw you."
Martin could already feel himself strangling her.
"Oh I'm sorry," Martin said with sourness in his voice. "We at Torrington didn't care what we wore as long as it was warm enough!"
Sam saw a fight flaring up between the two blonds and stepped between them.
"I think what she means is that you guys don't really look alike for siblings," Sam said, trying to cover for her friend. "Isn't that right, Clover?"
"Whatever," Clover said, her nose in the air and arms crossed.
"That's because she's my stepsister," Martin explained. "We aren't related by blood."
"Well, that explains it," Alex said. "She seemed kinda shy actually."
"Shy?!" Martin exclaimed in surprise. "Diana? Shy?! Wow! Biggest joke of the millennium! Java, did you hear that? She said Diana was shy! Oh that's hilarious!"
"It's true," Sam said. "She was pretty timid."
"Probably because she thought you guys were some sort of fashion snobs," Martin shrugged. "She was ranting about being picked on while we were on our way here."
"Well, she's wrong, we wouldn't pick on anyone," Clover defended. "Even if we are fashionistas, we aren't that low. But beware."
"Beware of what?" Martin asked, confused.
"You'll see," Clover said with a smirk. "You're going for classes tomorrow, right? You'll see."
"Yep," Martin said. "Whatever it is, I can handle it."
"You wish," Clover said with a slight twitch of her lips.
The Centre agents shrugged and went off to find their room while the Spies pressed the lift button to go back to their penthouse.
