jeremy had rode his bike all the way from metuchen to metro park station. his plan was to get onto a train, into new york city, and then to the state of new york to find his cousin. he had taken his allowance and the rest of the bah mitzvah money that he didn't spend on the squip. that added up to about four hundred dollars.
it was now five am. it had taken jeremy almost two hours to get to the train station on bike. he didn't care though, he was just relived that he would be leaving.
at the same time, he wasn't.
jeremy thought about michael. he promised michael he would never leave him again, at the same time, he felt that if he stayed that it would hurt michael even more.
jeremy bought a ticket at the station, and the time was set for five-twenty am. that gave jeremy twenty minutes till the train came. he ended up buying two donuts and a orange juice from the stand, to hold himself over.
minutes passed by, and a woman on the speaker was calling for jeremy's train. jeremy hopped on the train, his orange juice in his hand and donuts in his backpack, worried and relived at the same time.
it was still really early, so jeremy decided to get some sleep. he leaned his head against the glass as the train glass window.

about an hour later, a voice woke up jeremy. "son, this is the last stop. you're in new york." the conductor told jeremy. jeremy stood up.
"thank you," he thanked the man, putting his backpack on his back. he had arrived, penn station.
penn station was suprisingly crowded with people, even though it was only six thirty. jeremy waltzed through penn station, looking down at the ground so no one could see him. he walked out of penn station and was finally outside.
jeremy heere was in new york. jeremy walked around the city, looking for a bench. he was on fifth avenue, deciding if he should take a taxi or uber to his cousin's.
after a while, jeremy decided on a uber, since they were a little bit cheaper. he ate his second donut while waiting for the uber, since he didn't know if he was allowed to eat in the uber or not.
the uber finally arrived, and jeremy hopped in the backseat of the car. the man driving turned around to face jeremy. "aren't you a little young to be in the city alone?" the uber driver asked him.
"visiting some family, my family was too busy to come," jeremy half lied to the driver. jeremy had already given the address to the house on the app. the uber driver nodded and turned around, and he started to drive off.

by the time jeremy got to his cousin's house, it was eight am. he knew his cousin had to go to school soon, so he had to hurry. jeremy walked up to the grey house, hesitating to knock.
he decided to ring the doorbell instead, and heard footsteps. the footsteps started to get closer, and the door opened, jeremy facing his older cousin.
"how the fuck did you get here?" jared kleinman, jeremy's older cousin asked him.
jeremy put a fake smile on his face. "surprise," he told him sarcastically. jared rolled his eyes and brought his cousin inside, closing the door behind him.
