Just as I thought things couldn't get any worse then it already was; we began to be swarmed with NightBugs. Foul creatures, towering, a face with a thousand eyes— all bright yellow and gleaming, they had large moving jaws at the front with pincers. Giant flying aunts is what they should be called. Lizzie, and Penelope were casting all sorts of fire magic to get them off us as Hope ripped them to shreds. I stood there leaning against the tree watching, because according Lizzie I will only get in the way. They looked to penetrate our bodies and eat us from the inside. But hey what did I know... I was just a weak witch who would get hurt. Stupid nobles.

Penelope fell back, Lizzie standing above her. A swarm of glowing baby nightbugs erupted out of the ground, congregate together in a glowing mass, and darts towards Hope. The older girl freezes as I throw a shield of light around her, so that nothing can penetrate. I see the baby nightbugs darting into the shield, again and again, always bouncing off. Oh look at that I helped. I rolled my eyes.

I can tell by the 3 girls demeanor that they feel safe as they start to relax. I waved my hand forward and snap my fingers together as another light spell is casted causing the monsters to retreat into their in the ground, and we are once against left alone. I couldn't help but laugh at the 3 older girls struggling against bugs.

"What the hell. You couldn't of done that, I don't know 5 minutes ago" the shorter girl said a little pissed off. She softly hit me on my stomach causing me to double down laughing. It didn't hurt but her annoyance was there.

"This is a new low for me" I laughed

"Seriously? Height puns? Isn't that a bit" A mischievous smile formed in her face. "Beneath you?" She chuckled.

I wiggled a finger. "Now, now, don't get short with me"

"I just wouldn't want you thinking little of me"

"That would truly be a tall order" I laughed once more shaking my head. It amazed me at how easy I could talk to Hope. Like words just came out with out and thought.

"That was the scariest thing I'd ever encountered. Why were they so aggressive" Lizzie said trying to catch her breath.

"I mean, small creatures are way more vicious. It's because their anger has less space to be bottled up in" I said continuing my journey into the icy fortress of a cave we got stuck in due to lizzies terrible navigating skills.

"Ridiculous, give me one example of this" Hope scoffed.

"Spiders" Lizzie said

"Wasps" Penelope added.

"You" I laughed. Hope just glared at me shaking her head.

The small banters was a nice take away from the cave we were currently in. Having Lizzie take the lead wasn't the best idea but she took over completely. It wouldn't help that both Penelope and Lizzie would keep fighting for control.

Hopes friends seemed nice and fairly strong. But I couldn't be with them. They were slowing me down. And every time I would try to help out they'd push me out of the way like some little kid that needed protection. Or that I would only get in the way. They thought that lowly of me which made me hate them more. Yet I didn't say anything.
