Hope

"My love, when we are done with this tournament... what would you like to do first" Josie asked sweetly as she played with my hair. She was sitting against a tree while I rested my head on her lap, both of us trying to catch a breath, and taking it easy. Rai had convinced us that we needed time to cool both of our heads while her and lizzie find food. It didn't help that my eyelids where growing heavy, and I couldnt stop myself from yawning. According to my watch it was only 5:45 which meant we had 15 minutes until dawn. Which is when the sun will finally light up the beautiful forest terrain. Surviving this long meant surviving the game, and that's all that matter now. My body ached, and I could tell Josie was also feeling the exhaustion.

"I don't know... maybe travel the world before we settle down" I said resting my eyes for a moment. I didn't have to look at her to know that she was smiling. "Jos" I softly said.

"hmmm" josie hummed.

"This isn't a dream right... you're actually with me. You're actually alive... Or, am I finally dead, and finally get to be with you again" I said opening my eyes, meeting beautiful chocolate ones in front of me.

"my love... this is not a dream, you are not dead. I am alive and we are together... and now that i'm a new vampire, well I guess you're stuck with me for all of eternity" she leaned down and kissed me. God, I missed her lips. They are as soft and kissable as the first time i kissed her.

"I know this wasn't supposed to happen. We did this all wrong, didn't we" I sighed turning my head to hide my face in josies stomach. I held her tightly just wanting to feel her close.

"I suppose so. I never thought i'd be a vampire... but if it means being with you for literally eternity, i'd do it all again" Josie laughed.

"So would I" I smiled. "Hey Jo, would you be happy with me"

"yeah, of course i would. No matter where we are or what we do, as long as we're together"

"Then i guess I'd better get busy working on that"

"oh what?" Josie asked curiously

"it's a secret"

"You know... I actually like being a vampire."

"Oh yeah. How so?"

"Well, for starts, I have super-hearing. Which means I can listen to your heartbeat whenever I want. I think I finally found my own comfort song" Josie leaned down and placed a kiss on my lips, as she caressed my cheeks slightly. "I just Can't wait to finally get out of here."

"Don't worry, my love. It's nearly over." I told her sitting up. Josie sighed and stood back up onto her feet. Josie brought her hands to me, which I gladly took using them as support to stand up myself. "We'll be out of here, and back to our normal lives"

"Uh huh" Josie managed to give a faint reply. Her jacket was zipped down to her stomach. She grabbed the open area with both hands gripping it so hard her knuckles were turning white. You would think she was about to rip her jacket off and turn into Superman or something by the way she was holding it. She walked ahead just a bit.

"Do you want to try and take your mind off it? What ever has your head spinning" I asked, trying to calm her down. "If you want we can throw rocks at a tree. We can carve a target and—"

"Do you think we will work out after this is all over" Josie asked nervously. Her head slowly dropped.

"Of course we will." I reassured her.

"But you're a noble right. And I'm—"

"Josette Saltzman who is now my life time partner. I'm know my parents would be happy to meet you"
