It had been a month... a month since the final exam exhibition and a month since Tae and Jungkook had sat in the cafe and decided they wanted to start afresh. The academic year was winding down and the atmosphere was a mixture of stress because of exams and excitement with everyone planning for the big dance that had a Hollywood theme this year.

Tae had thought his biggest battle would be learning to trust that Jungkook wasn't hiding anything else but his biggest battle had been winning Yoongi over... which wasn't happening any time soon. Yoongi and Jimin had been able to move forwards together but he still wasn't prepared to give Jungkook the time of day despite the best efforts of everyone around them. Tae had tried asking him to try to forgive Jungkook because if he was able to move past the situation with Jimin then surely he should extend that to the other... but Yoongi refused.

The problem with Yoongi, aside from his extreme stubbornness, was that he had never liked Jungkook. There had been the situation with Namjoon and then there was his reputation, he simply disliked him, a lot. He had thought long and hard about Jimin's part in hurting Tae and it was, of course something that needed dealing with. Jimin had been devastated when Yoongi couldn't look him in the eye and they had talked until he felt like his vocal chords were worn away. They were both accepting of the fact they didn't want to lose what they had started to build but they also couldn't ignore the hurt caused by Jimin's actions. Yoongi had asked for some space which had crushed Jimin but he understood, that week being the worst he'd experienced in a long time. Eventually they had spoken again and agreed to start over but Yoongi had stated 'no intimacy' until he felt they were stronger.

Tae was using every tactic he could think of and had started keeping a diary of everything Jungkook did to make an effort... writing it on a wipeable board in their kitchen so that Yoongi could see... drastic times called for drastic measures, after all.

And Jungkook had been trying... just yesterday he had waited for Tae outside his class, with a hot chocolate, just to walk him to his next class. Tae knew it wasn't easy for him so he appreciated every little thing he did but he could also see the battle inside him, particularly when he needed to say something that involved feelings.

Jungkook could deal with the whispers and looks from other students, providing he didn't hear them mention Tae, people could say what they liked about him, he didn't care... but he couldn't stay calm if they were gossiping about Tae.

His friends took the piss out of him often, saying he was whipped and 'Tae's bitch' but he usually threatened their lives or told them to 'fuck off' whilst reminding Jimin and Jay that they were so under the thumbs of Yoongi and Woseok that they had no room to comment.

Jungkook had turned into the perfect gentleman with Tae, they hadn't gone further than a make out session which had left them both a mess, when the dancer had driven Tae home and kissing was as far as it went. This was new territory for him because he wasn't used to abstaining, especially when he fancied someone as much as he fancied Tae.

Jungkook had this special evening planned, he was going to cook, be super romantic and he really wanted to discuss their relationship status, which is something they hadn't done. They had discussed a lot in the past month, with Jungkook telling the blonde all about his past relationship that had moulded him into what he was now trying to change. Tae didn't really understand why someone would treat the person they claimed to love, the way that Jungkook had been treated and this innocence is what had convinced Jungkook that this relationship wasn't going to be a repeat of his last one.

Accepting this and trying to change the way he had been accustomed to being in recent years, wasn't easy and he was sure he would mess up but he was trying, he really was. Most of the time he felt like a very young teen doing things for the first time... which his friends thought was amusing.
