"He likes reading... books... oh and comics."
"Why do I need to know that?"
"So you can ask him out."
Jungkook wondered if you could divorce friends? He was having a quiet coffee when Jimin had appeared, going on about the only thing he went on about these days. Jungkook had managed to strike up conversation with Tae during class and since they were working together, he really didn't have a lot of choice.
"He will be coming to practice this week, doesn't that count?"
"No! That's for your assignment. That's business and this is pleasure. They are completely different."
"I'm not seeing where pleasure comes into it. My date tonight, is pleasure. Spending time with the geek, is not."
"Wait... what date? You can't have a date!"
"Well, I do."
"You can't!!" Jimin gripped Jungkook's forearm with both his hands.
"Why not?"
"Because you want to date Tae!"
"Erm... no, I don't. I want to get laid and that's what is happening tonight."
"But you can't! I am buying you copious amounts of coffee to go out with Tae and he isn't going to go out with you if he knows you are dating people!"
"You said, ask him out for coffee so that you can go out with Yoongi. You didn't say anything about a fake dating situation and you definitely didn't mention abstinence!"
"I thought that was obvious?"
"You are joking, right? You said 'ask him out for a coffee'. You didn't say anything about not fucking anyone."
"He won't go out with you if you are fucking everyone else. You need to cancel your date. You need to make him think that you are interested in him."
"You want me to get blue balls for a few coffees? I always thought you were a bit crazy, Chim, but you are insane."
"What else do you want then?"
"Tickets to the baseball for a start."
"Okay."
"Okay?"
"Yes! I said 'okay' I will get you tickets. I'll get you tickets to 2 games... just cancel your date and get on with asking Tae out."
"If Min Yoongi is not the best fuck ever and you do not get married and live happily ever after with 2 small dogs and a cat, I will hunt you down."
"How could he resist me? Anyway, I am the best fuck ever so you don't need to worry about anything except asking Tae out."
"Why can't you find someone who has a normal best friend? Isn't there someone in the dance class who knows someone? Or what about that guy in defence on the basketball team, he's got a great butt?"
"But he isn't Yoongi."
Jungkook craved for normality to resume, well, as normal as life could be, with Jimin as a friend. He cancelled his date and sulked about it for most of the evening, deciding that the quickest way for him to get his life back was to get on with it and ask Tae out. The sooner he kept Tae occupied so that Yoongi was on his own more, then Jimin could move in for the kill and Jungkook could break it to Tae that he wasn't feeling it and they might end up as friends... might... or say 'hi' in class.
Mrs Jung couldn't hide her surprise when Jungkook walked into her class on time in the next art lesson and most of his classmates were also taken aback. He sauntered to the back, fist bumping a few and winking at some others, taking his seat beside Taehyung who greeted him with a 'Hi'.
