Light-Hearted

Once there lived a very alluring girl,

Who was as precious as a South Sea pearl,

She lived alone, without any friends,

Lucky is the one who she befriends.

She was as lively as a merry doe,

Her beauty made many minds blow,

She loved everyone unconditionally,

She was to be remembered infinitely.

She was the princess of a magical place,

Where she ruled with utmost grace,

She cared for everyone with so much love,

Her stature as elegant as a solitary dove.

Though she had wealth, prosperity, everything one wanted,

She always felt empty at the deepest part of her heart,

She was lonely, scared, and felt unwanted,

Still, she sacrificed everything and slowly fell apart.

She was roaming in the woods without any care,

A heavenly sight to see, it was so much rare,

She was enjoying herself for the first time,

It was the happiest moment in her lifetime.

She saw the birds chirping and the river flowing,

She heard the squirrels playing and winds blowing,

It was the prettiest sight she had ever seen,

She was preparing herself to be the future queen.

She was in the disguise of a common girl,

Still, she looked like a precious pearl,

She wanted to know her people more,

She could not control her excitement anymore.

She saw her people, though nobody recognized her,

She heard children laughing, the sound which she loved to hear,

She felt utter bliss, the feeling which she loved,

Little did she know, she will soon meet her beloved.

As she was returning back, back to solace,

She sighed, she knew she was hopeless,

She heard a voice which reminded her of somebody,

She turned around but saw nobody.

Suddenly, she felt someone hug her lovingly,

She felt all of her worries go away immediately,

She removed his hands and saw him under the mistletoe,

She gazed at her favorite eyes which she had lost years ago.

Her beloved was back, breaking every barrier,

There he was, her darling savior,

She felt over the moon, she was so much delighted,

After so many years she felt light-hearted.
