Chapter 18

"Okay so," I said clapping my hands as I spoke to the camera. "Today Jonah and I will be pulling a prank on the boys, Alethea, Alethea's parents, and her brother, Liam"

"So basically we're doing the abusive boyfriend prank and we will tell at least one person at each house that it is a prank just in case things get out of hand" I continue to explain. I look over at Jonah and he has a scared look on his face making me laugh slightly.

"Okay, so imma put some makeup around my eye and on my cheek maybe," I say quietly while I concentrate on the colors. I get done with my left eye and it looks pretty legit. I start making a bruise on my cheekbone a little under my right eye so all of the "bruises" aren't on the same side.

"What if I put makeup on your fingers and make it looked like you tried choking me or something?" I ask with my jaw dropped. "You'd be killed.... let's do it"

Jonah shook his head vigorously until he realized that he wouldn't win this battle. I took his hand in mine and put the purple eyeshadow on his fingers.

I took his hand and softly put it around my neck and made sure that the color would transfer onto my skin. I took his hand off of me and looked in the mirror to see five perfect dots on my neck.

"That looks so real that I believe it. I'm scared" Jonah admits laughing nervously.

"You'll be okay. We're about to call someone to let them know it's a prank so no one will hurt you"

I go into my contacts and press Corbyn's name and wait for him to pick up. After about five rings we hear his voice.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Corbyn is Alethea with you? And where are you?" I ask looking at Jonah.

"Alethea's at her parents and I'm in my room. Why?"

"I need you to come outside and to my car. Jonah and I wanna pull a prank but we need someone to make sure nothing gets too outta hand. If the boys ask where you're going just say you wanna go for a walk or something"

"Is your car in the driveway?"

"No, we're down a couple of houses"

"Alright I'm coming I'll be there in a few"

I hang up the phone and look at Jonah again. He looks just as nervous now as he did earlier maybe even more.

The door to the back seat opens and the blonde boy gets in shutting the door behind him.

"Woah what happened to you?" He asks when he sees my eye. His attention then moves to my neck where the purple marks are.

"It's part of the prank. It's the abusive boyfriend prank so" I explain gesturing towards Jonah.

"That's why you need me" he realizes. "What all am I supposed to do?" He asks looking between us.

"Well we're doing the boys first then we'll go over to Alethea's parent's house and prank them as well and we'll take you with so you can stop them there too"

"Alright we'll see you inside"

"Thanks, Corbs," I say before he shuts the door.

We wait in the car for a few minutes going over the plan and how we want it to play out. Jonah is gonna be super bossy and rough when he handles me and stuff so it seems more believable.

"Alright, you'll be fine. Nothing will happen" I say pecking Jonah's lips quickly before getting out of the car. I throw my hood over my head slightly so it looks like I'm trying to hide it but not really. Jonah held my hand as we walk inside and he looked a little pissed off like we talked about. I had the camera in my hand and it was on the entire time we will be in there.

We also had set up go pros the day before that I could turn on and off with my phone so I turned them all on while we were in the car.

We walk through the front door and sit on the couch like nothing was up. Jonah instinctively put his hand on my thigh and we just watch whatever is on tv.

"Ariella go get me water," he said it kinda harsh like we talked about and I acted like I didn't hear him.

"What?" I ask quietly.

"Go get me water" he repeats slower. I get up and you can tell the boys are already on high alert since he's never talked like that with me before.

I grab the water bottle from the fridge and walk back to the couch where I hand it to him. Some time had passed before he spoke up again.

"That looks so slutty on you," he says looking at a random picture of me. That got Daniel's attention as he looked at the picture as well.

"What do you mean it looks slutty on her? She's literally wearing one of your hoodies and leggings. Like she is right now. She looks fine" he defends looking from me to Jonah.

"It looks slutty and you have no say so Daniel she isn't your girlfriend she's mine" he seethes looking at the blue-eyed boy. Daniel's eyes just get as big as saucers before Jonah grabs my wrist and pulls me upstairs.

I give a quick look to the rest of the boys and they all look at each other still on high alert.

Jonah pulls me into his room and slams the door behind us and starts yelling at me. The camera was still on but instead of it just lazily hanging by my side I lifted it up and pointed it at Jonah.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?! WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SUCH A BITCH ARIELLA?!" He yells "I'm sorry I don't mean it" he whispers making me laugh.

"DONT JUST STAND THERE SAY SOMETHING" he yells again.

He smacked his hands together making it sound like he just hit me and not even a second later the bedroom door swings open and the boys come rushing in. Jack walks over to me and hugs me tightly as I cover my cheek trying to sell the lie some more.

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU MAN?! YOU'RE BETTER THAN THIS! WHY WOULD YOU HIT HER WHEN SHE'S DONE NOTHING TO YOU?!" Daniel yells at him.

When Jonah didn't answer, Daniel grabbed the collar of Jonah's shirt and pushed him up against the wall. Corbyn stepped forward and started pushing Daniel off of him when I got out of Jack's grip.

"It's a prank don't hit him," I say quickly blocking Jonah with my body. Daniel immediately calms down and lets go of Jonah.

"What the fuck? I thought he actually hurt you" he said backing up.

"Well, now we know that the boys will also protect me," I said laughing slightly.

"What's the black eye then? Makeup?" Zach asks looking at my eye.

"Yeah so are the marks on my neck" I laugh pulling the collar of the hoodie down some putting the marks on display.

"I thought he choked you," Jack says loudly rubbing his finger over one of the marks then looking down at his finger.

"I'm leaving" he huffs walking out of the room. I turn towards Jonah and he still looks scared shitless like if he makes one wrong move towards me then Daniel will have him against the wall again.

"Okay well, now we have to go to Thea's house and do the prank there as well. You ready Corbyn?" I ask looking over at him. He just nods and the three of us leave the house.
