"So I was thinking" Jonah randomly states staring at the ceiling.

I had my head laying down on his stomach and his hand was resting in my hair as we both just looked at the plain white ceiling above us.

"That's a scary thing" I laugh looking up at him to see a playful offended look on his face.

"You're so mean" he pouts looking down at me.

"But you love me" I tease closing my eyes.

"I can't disagree with that statement" he mumbles making my eyes widen. I sit up and turn to face him just for him to look at me confused.

"You are aware that I was joking? Right?"

"But I wasn't"

"No. Don't joke with me like this. Don't say it unless you truly mean it Frantzich" I say moving to where I was sitting in front of him.

"I mean it. One hundred percent I mean it" he reassured pushing my hair out of my face. "I love you"

Jonah leaned forward and kissed me softly making me smile a little and kiss him back.

"So what were you thinking?" I ask still smiling widely.

"I want to meet your parents," he says mirroring my smile. My face dropped and I could feel my skin go pale.

"Jo we talked about this. They're-"

"Always really busy? Yeah we did talk about that but when I asked Alethea what your parents did for a living she said something completely different than what you told me" he replied cutting me off.

"Fuck" I mutter looking everywhere but his eyes.

"My question is, who's lying?" He asks trying to make eye contact with me but I keep avoiding it.

"We both are" I answered resting my chin on my knees. My arms were wrapped around my legs with my knees against my chest.

"Why did you lie?"

"Because I don't like facing reality" I shrug still not looking him in the eye.

"So where are they? Why can't I meet them?"

I stood up off the bed and grabbed my coat. Jonah looked at me confused the entire time until I walked to his bedroom door and looked back at him.

He got the hint that he needed to follow me so he took a few minutes getting his jacket and shoes on before leaving the room and house with me.

The drive was silent and we slowly arrived at the cemetery. I parked the car and sat in the driver's seat for what felt like hours but in reality, it was a minute or so.

Jonah grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it before getting out of the car with me slowly following.

When we met in the front of the car Jonah grabbed my hand again and held it tightly as I lead the way to the tombstones.

"You wanted to meet them so... here they are" I mutter crouching down in front of the stones.

I moved my hand across them to move the leaves and dead grass off of the lettering.

"Ari... I didn't-"

"I know you didn't. I didn't want you to know I didn't want anyone knowing. I asked Alethea to lie if you ever asked her and her parents so" I spoke trailing off near the end of my sentence.
