Chap 26 - " Graduation ""I was scared," he confessed. "I thought that if I got used to you caring about me so much that I'd expect it more and more... that one day, you'll tell me that none of ot was real after all.. that you might grow tired of me and let me go..."
Soobin was quiet for a minute, taking in his words.
"You heard, didn't you?" he asked.
Thinking back on how he eavesdropped on that conversation and then ensuing argument afterward, Yeonjun felt shame taking over him.
Nonetheless, he nodded. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said those things to you at that time. I was.... I was hurt and confused... I didn't want you to give up on me." His lips trembled; he knew he was about to cry but he had to hold it in. "But, instead, I made you give up on me."
"So... you heard that part but you didn't hear me say that I wasn't giving up on you?"
Wait.. what?
"I never wanted to give up on you Yeonjun. I have no plans to."
Okay, looking back now, maybe he should have stayed longer to hear the rest of the conversation rather than just assuming and running away.
Now, he was just embarrassed.
"B-But... these last few weeks..."
Soobin chuckled as he wrapped the younger in his arms. 'I'm sorry, I was being a little petty. I'll confess, I was hurt too, so I thought I'd give you space. Were you hurt?"
Yeonjun sniffled a little, willing the frustrated tears to stay in his eyes and not fall. "Yes. I was so sure you had given up on me, and that Yuhyun was going to take my place."
Soobin pulled back to look him in the face. "No one can replace you, wifey. You're mine and I'm yours... remember?" He sweetly pecked the younger's lips. "I misses you."
Yeonjun smiled in bliss. "I missed you too."
Soobin placed his hands on either side of the younger's cheeks, stroking gently. "You're not nothing to me, Yeonjun. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me. So, I'm not letting you go. I love you Yeonjun."
Those three beautiful words were all that was needed for the tears to finally fall. Soobin wiped them all away, laughing as he did so.
And soon, they were kissing again, the lunch box forgotten on the floor.
When that love sprouted and grew in his heart, he didn't know. Maybe he would think about it more at a later time. He and Soobin still had a lot to talk about, both of them needed to figure out where this newly-acknowledged love will take them next.
But, for this moment, he was content to stay there, in his husband's arms, accepting all the love he was willing to give and returning it with his own.
He wasn't scared anymore.

It was beautiful perfect day. The sun was out and shining, there was a slight breeze blowing, the chirping of birds blended nicely with the noise around the university.
From his spot near the entrance, Soobin stood calmly with a smile on his face, though on the inside he wanted nothing more than to jump and dance in glee. He had been waiting for this ay for months and finally, it was here.
On the other side of the courtyard, his husband was busy taking pictures with his friends and chatting with his schoolmates, their graduation caps askew as they waved their diplomas around. Even from a distance, Soobin could see the glinting silver of the fox tag hanging from his husband's neck.
He wore it all the time now, so cute.
Today, Yeonjun finally graduated from college. Soobin was the only one in attendance for the ceremony. The rest of their family and friends were waiting at the Gangnam-do branch of the Kims to surprise the younger.
After Yeonjun had confessed his feelings for him, Soobin had never felt such happiness and bliss in his entire life. It felt like the honeymoon stage again, where everything that Yeonjun said or did made him feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.
The first few days after his confession, the younger had reverted back to his shy behaviour, but it was now accompanied by reciprocated affection. Yeonjun freely poured his love with no reservation and Soobin drank it all in with much happiness in his heart. He felt like nothing could make him unhappy again. Yeonjun was the love of his life and he never wanted anyone else.
It was cheesy, but it was the truth.
Finally, Yeonjun was done saying goodbye to his friends and was now scanning his surroundings with a slight frown. Soobin stayed put, practically vibrating in anticipation.
When Yeonjun met his eyes, the younger broke into the biggest smile and bounded over to him.
"Binnie, you made it!" he exclaimed, coming to stop in front of his older husband.
The younger's hair glistened in the sun; he had dyed it a light blonde just a few days ago. His dark brown eyes sparkled with glee at finally being finished with school forever. And although he was sweaty due to heat and the graduation gown, he still glowed.
Without a word, Soobin gently took his hand and pulled him closer to wrap his arms around him. Yeonjun instantly curled up to his chest with a chuckle.
"Of course I would silly," the older fondly said. "My husband just graduated, how can I not?" He pulled back slightly to show Yeonjun the bouquet of flowers in his hand. "For you, wifey."
Yeonjun scowled at him. "I'm not a girl you know," he said, but taking the flowers anyway.
"You're still my wifey," he teased as the younger blushed in response before smacking his arm.
"Jerk."
In response, Soobin leaned down to press a deep kiss into those tantalising plump lips. They tasted just as sweet as their first, the cute little sounds Yeonjun made drove him crazy; Soobin couldn't get enough of it.
When they broke apart, Yeonjun was red but smiling, happily. It was a beautiful sight, the one that Soobin would make sure to bring back on frequently for the rest of their lives.
He held out a hand. "Shall we, my husband?" he asked with a teasing grin.
Yeonjun nodded before slipping his hand into him. "Let's go."
