A few months later, Soobin found himself parking outside one of South Korea's biggest and well-known entertainment companies. There were a good number of people going in, many of them with nervous but hopeful smiles.
Beside him, Yeonjun was fiddling with the fox-pendant around his neck, staring at the entrance with foreboding. He was nervous. Soobin could tell when he picked at his breakfast that morning, when he changed his shirt five times, and when he called his bandmates one after another.
Soobin reached out to hold his hand and squeeze it in comfort. "You'll be amazing wifey," he said.
Yeonjun bit his lip. "What if I mess up and don't make it?" he asked, in a quiet voice.
"Then we'll go to the next one," replied Soobin with confidence. "And the next and the next one... We'll go to all of them, we'll nag them until they take you... or they'll regret letting you go."
When Yeonjun finally broke into a sweet smile, Soobin felt pride.
He had confidence in Yeonjun and knew that his husband would give it his all. He was a talented singer with so much passion.. these entertainment companies wouldn't know what hit them.
Soobin certainly didn't know when Yeonjun entered his heart, but he would never let him go after this.
"You always know how to make me feel better," his husband said to him before leaning over to kiss him.
Soobin placed his hands on Yeonjun's cheeks and playfully squished them. "You're going to blow them away, I know it. And I'll be right here waiting for you, okay?"
Yeonjun nodded before grinning, shyly. "Can I get another kiss? For luck?"
Of course, Soobin compiled, pressing his lips against his husband, pouring all his love and affection into that simple kiss.
He watched as his husband exited the car and headed towards the entrance of the building. Before going in, Yeonjun turned around. Catching Soobin's eye, he smiled a loving smile of appreciation. With one last wave, he entered the building out of Soobin's sight.
Meanwhile, Soobin leaned in his seat, making himself comfortable. He brought his laptop along to do some work while waiting - MOA Corp's Japan expansion was going well, and the plans to launch in some other South-Asian countries like Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh were going on. Yeonjun had some great ideas to help with the promotions. They made a great team.
Also, their one-yar anniversary was approaching. Soobin couldn't believe how much things have changed in a year.
He was still Choi Soobin, but a better one. A happier one.
He looked outside towards the entrance of the building. More and more people were trickling in for the auditions. Somewhere inside that building, his husband was giving his all to show those judges how great he was, that was worth it.
And as he served his surroundings, he couldn't help but smile in satisfaction.
The trees were growing, nicely.
The seed of marriage was planted when he first met Yeonjun and the day he got married to him. He tried to water it by being kind to his husband and supporting his dreams. When a seed is planted, not only the plant but some weeds tend to grow too.
They both let the weeds grow for a bit by not communicating, but soon knew if they left the weeds just like that, it would become so big they wouldn't be able to pull the weeds out. When they realized it was indeed the weeds, Yeonjun made the first step to pull them all out.
And then Soobin also helped him pull; every weed out, building trust and friendship in their love. They both watered the plant of marriage and the fruits of love with so much attention to each other by supporting and loving the other as such. They waited for their love to sprout and now the tree stood tall and majestic.
Just like their love.
Love is just like a tree, when you plant it, make sure to water it properly, pull out the weeds and wait for it to sprout. The process of falling in love is always satisfying, just like a seed growing into a tree over the years.
Love, the one emotion that binds the entire world. Just cherishable as it is. Just admirable as it is.
And that was what Yeonjun was for Soobin, a cherishable one. And that was what Soobin was for Yeonjun, an admirable one. They were both just lovely together, in love, forever.
