After 14 long hours and 2 different planes, I was finally in a taxi, driving to my parents' house. I missed my mom and dad, and Loki. Jill and I had a dog together, and when we divorced, she didn't want her. So I told her to drop Loki off at my parents'... and if you really look at it, it was kind of a bitch move. We had Loki for forever, but I guess I wanted her at my parents rather than have her take Loki. So maybe that's why she didn't take her, but I doubt it.

"Andy! Sweetie!" My mom just about ran to me as I walked in.

"Hey, mom."

My dad rounded the corner, "Andrew!" he reached for what looked like a handshake, but be pulled me in for a hug. God I missed them.

"Hahaha, how've you been, son?" My dad asked, full on smile.

"I've been better, just glad to be here."

"You've been better?? Honey are you okay?" My mom looked at me, worried.

"Yeah mom I'm totally fine. Don't sweat it alright?"

"... Well okay... We've set your bed in the spare room. It's pretty late, you wanna go to bed?"

"Yeah, I'm thinking I will, but don't worry, I'll be out of your guys's hair by tomorrow."

"Oh, you can stay as long as you want, Andy, we're just glad to see you." My mom sighed, my dad wrapped his arm around her waist.

I smiled, "Yeah, I know, love you." I kissed my mom's cheek and nodded at my dad, then I sauntered off to the spare room. Hopefully I'm in a better mood tomorrow, they'd wanna see me happy.

I fell into the ridiculously thick comforter, my face cushioned with a pillow. I shimmied off my coat and my pants, leaving myself in a t-shirt and boxers. I managed to get under the blanket and settle into the mattress when the door creeked open.

"You almost forgot about some one..." whispered my father.

A black snout popped through the light that illuminated from the creek.

"Loki!" I nearly shouted.

Loki came trotting in, jumped on my bed, and greeted me with kisses and whines.

My dad chuckled, "Haha, night Andrew." He quietly shut the door.

"Lay down Loki," she listened obeidiently, "Haha, good girl."

I layed back, my hand still scratching Loki's ear. I looked outside to see a sky full of stars, I missed my Michigan sky.

"Night Loki." I rolled over and soon enough, fell into a silent sleep.
