As soon as her parents went to sleep, Raven sneaked out of her home and continued training. After what happened earlier today between the townsfolk and Nightmare, the young mage was even more desperate to get stronger so she could protect the purple Guardian and to try to vanquish the burning sensation within her chest since it hasn't disappeared like it usually does; she was becoming worried that something was wrong with her SOUL.
Pausing to take a breath, the exhausted girl closed her eyes and started taking calming breaths. Whiling meditating, her thoughts wondered over to her skeleton crush and the look he had after she pecked him on the cheekbone; causing her to chuckle breathlessly as red dusted her cheeks. But, then her thoughts turned darker as she remembered about her other troubles with Terrence and his gang. She was hoping that the other two would still keep the deal going when their leader left, but Raven's hopes died when she saw Diana within the mob of townsfolk. The angered mage gritted her teeth as she felt tears well up in her eyes; not wanting to cry, she started to get up to resume her training when a sharp pain exploded in her chest that caused her to let out a strangled yelp as she fell to her knees.
Confusion and worry showed on her face as she took labored breaths while bringing a shaking hand to the spot where her sternum was located and made a pulling notion. The sight of her SOUL made Raven gasp in horror. The once minty blue heart was almost covered in a firebrick red color with black spider web like cracks decorating it; the most concerning one was the huge crack going diagonally across from it. The only sign that it was the young girl's SOUL was the minty blue color in the middle.
Tears streamed down her cheeks as a breathless whisper escaped her parted lips, "What's happening to me?"
Not wanting to look at it any longer and wanting to distract herself from her traumatizing discovery, Raven placed her SOUL back in her chest and ran through the forest with the full moon being the only light. She ran out of the tree line, past the town, until the familiar sight of the Tree of Feelings graced her vision. It was a sight to behold; with the moon and stars glowing brightly above it, the leaves and apples swaying majestically in the spring breeze, and the two Guardians sleeping in their usual spots.
Sneaking past Dream, Raven looked up at a certain branch that Nightmare took a liking to. Glancing around the trunk to peek at Dream, she quickly focused on the branched and activated her Strings to use as a rope and started climbing. When she reached the top, her magic deactivated and she was now sitting in front of a sleeping skeleton. Wringing her hands in worry, Raven started whisper shouting "Psst! Nightmare?" When that didn't work, she started poking him "Please wake up, Nighty..." This finally caused the groggy skeleton to stir as he rubbed his eyes sockets, mumbling "Raven...? What... what's wrong?"
